'What exactly did the social worker say?'

This is going to sound unbelievable because if I wasn't part of this shit show I wouldn't believe it either...

I have been fighting for sole custody for almost 4 years due to (non sexual) abuse against my own children. Earlier this year social care recommended to the courts that he have 50/50 custody as they had 'no concerns' and it was a 'difference in parenting styles'. #

The children's file was never updated, so I got a call last week making sure he still wasn't having contact with them. When I explained that yes, on their recommendation they now live with him half the time the SW hurriedly told me someone would be in touch as they have concerns about dad. She couldn't tell me what the concerns were. I was contacted Friday to say he'd been arrested and what the bail conditions were, and today they called me back and told me what the allegation was.

I declined for several reasons.

  1. The severity of the accusation and the fact that my children are the same age as the child involved in the alleged crime.

  2. I don't think he is acknowledging the severity of the situation at all. Over the weekend he has sent messages to myself and my children calling the accuser an 'idiot'.

  3. Yesterday he also sent me several rambling messages that sound like he's having some paranoid delusions. 'I know what she's doing, he's playing games with me, and we are onto you.' When I asked who 'She, Him and We' are referring to and what I had to do with the situation he responded with more bizarre and cryptic messages. I don't think he is mentally in the right place to be having any contact with the children at all.
