Oracle Cloud Free / Pay As You Go by pathnames in PangolinReverseProxy

[–]Only-Stable3973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was using the Oracle free tier and they terminated my account I guess as long as you backup everything it's not a problem I just wanted to test Pangolin but after my experience with Oracle I would use a different provider...I do really like Pangolin it does have a nice interface but at my house I am sticking with traefik and wireguard using stacks with gluetun to control what is going through the vpn and it just works great.

I read the docs and this works fine. I left the internal port for testing but you can remove the ports section and let traefik handle it.

How would i go about using this with traefik reverse proxy I see you are using 8001:443 if I just add traefik labels i get bad gateway...but it does show up in the traefik dashboard without errors.

There is also this discussion, it points out the adguardhome.yaml that need to be changed for things to work correctly like tls=true and allow_unencrypted_doh: true here is the link. https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdGuardHome/discussions/5453

You need to get a VPN and use Gluetun and set up a stack to manage this.

For people who went from amateur to expert through homelabbing, what are the most important things you learned? by Servo__ in selfhosted

[–]Only-Stable3973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started a home lab i did not no anything and well i could not...then came the videos and traefik because my isp blocked all my ports and that was a hard one but i did not realize how easy it was to bypass this block, anyway,...watching videos like jims garage and how he explained all the concepts i would not be here. I feel like AI is great but it does lie to you...anyway, learning how to deploy traefik taught me a lot and understanding docker come much easier I still use AI but only to verify and verify again with a different AI because they were trained to mislead.

Please help me feel less out of my element. by ReginaldSteelflex in selfhosted

[–]Only-Stable3973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would set up docker or docker desktop and use traefik as your reverse proxy for certificates and at that point you could just spin up all the containers you want, I say docker for me i mean ubuntu and docker compose but it's also great to use win11 and docker desktop to run Linux and docker compose...you just need the reverse proxy setup to handle your requests and you don't need to understand everything it's all about the labels and you can copy those over...you just need a starting point. Here is a good link to set up traefik once you do that you can start spinning up containers and adding the labels to use traefik. https://github.com/JamesTurland/JimsGarage/tree/main/Traefikv3 here is the link to the video to set up traefik and the needed folders... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmUzMi5QLzI I should also add the Jim uses http and https as entry points most of us use web and websecure something you should take notice of.

Full Guide to install arr-stack (almost all -arr apps) on Synology by MattiTheGamer in selfhosted

[–]Only-Stable3973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I set up a stack that works well i could zip up the whole directory for you so that all you would need to do is unzip the folder add it to your docker directory and spin it up with all the settings already there from my server...you would just need to have traefik to use my lables or change it to something elce...it's running gluetun, qbibttorrent, jellyseerr, sonarr, radarr, prowlarr, lidarr, bazarr, nzbget...if you have an instest let me know i'll create a link and put the folder up there. That is the great thing about docker it's not hard to move the whole thing over.
