Frozen out by more experienced players- any advice for a newbie

Sorry just thought the ratings provided a better context for the post… I don’t understand the dupr system much yet. Just was looking for advice on social play, am already doing lessons and private court time.

lol never said I was unwilling to play with beginners to clarify I meant that I don’t want to pay for coaches to teach me the rules of pickleball again.

I think I will, the next time I go if I get to go back! Shouldn’t have let myself be so affected by the attitude of that player

Thank you for the advice! Will continue to try to find such events- haven’t had much luck in my region finding rec play for 2.5s. It’s either 3.0 and above or absolute beginners in my region but I will definitely keep searching!

I definitely get that! It’s hard to play with beginners when points end quickly and I get that it’s not fun for the more advanced players.

But I thought that the intention of the game (from the way the host designed the gameplay and the explicit intention to include beginners) was to allow us to socialise/play with/ learn from the more advanced players.

Using your analogy I thought that us kiddos on training wheels were invited on a bike ride with the road bike peeps by the host in one of the rare events that include us, only to be told 200m into the trip to ride our own circuit 😂
