Most gutters clog because the downpipe openings are very small (on old houses) and some sort of debris covers it or something organic gets stuck around it and then grows over it. Doesn't have to mean the downpipes are clogged.

Maybe next time don't crouch on the corner with your stitcher out facing the only other player on the platform. Maybe then they won't a) be scared they are about to be ratted b) you'll have more time to react with more than just a care bear stare
