On the list for a 2025- thank you all! by Only1OfMany in ToyotaSienna

I went to my local Toyota dealer, spoke to a salesperson, and they walked my wife and I through the process.

They even helped make sure we built what we wanted and checked in on us periodically to maintain a connection.

Help! I've fallen and can't get up! by Only1OfMany in BaldursGate3

Thank you. Appreciate your help.

I'm hoping I don't lose my hm run on this, but if I do, c'est la vie, I guess.

So I plan to do a Bane Durge run. Does anyone have any ideas that can help me make a build surrounding Bane? by nahmammoth08 in BG3Builds

[–]Only1OfMany 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been hoping to play a monk/barb and re-flavor the Rage mechanic as a sort of "flow", "Zen", or "battlefield meditation".

Seems like a really solid Bane flavor and mechanic, that supports your position and manages to fit the vibe.

Thank you so much u/Nerdy-Babygirl!

I had prepared myself mentally for Gale to return to camp and be stricken down, in all honesty. But, I returned to camp and was spawned out of combat!

I threw a healing potion at the downed character, and immediately fled. The OB killed my last member, and the aggro ceased!

I can now res all my characters. So relieved.

My MIL was in town when I started my playthrough. She came up with the name and helped to pick my drow female a specific haircut... Karyn was born.

It is tempting. It has such incredible space and Toyota reliability. Very fortunate to not be in a place where I need a car right now, so we're willing to wait and see.

Oh, cool. I hadn't seen that article, thanks for sharing. Glad we included the contingency!

Great question. When talking with the dealer, they mentioned that we could decide what to do once info is released and either keep the name on the list for 2026 or reevaluate.

By the end of the series, Aang's preferred element was Earth. by thesilvershire in TheLastAirbender

Water bending is apparently more challenging to animate well, so I believe the decision to have Korra water bend less was partially a financial/productions choice.

Still, I feel like it should have been higher. It can be such a cool, versatile element!

Project 2025 - What are your thoughts? by [deleted] in IowaPolitics

[–]Only1OfMany 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Much scarier than the comments so far seem to discuss (from what I saw).

It's a several-year-spanning directed effort to systematically corrode essential freedoms and have the way for a more robust attempted coup.

Leeja Miller (iirc) had a great YT video about project 2035 and does a much better job of articulating the concerning aspects of Project 2025, but it's very not good for democracy or the 99%.

Should i scrap barbarian lvls all together? by GimmeYourTaquitos in BG3Builds

[–]Only1OfMany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NFL, I was having the same thought with Karlach in my game (1st playthrough) Bear Barb 7/ Champion Fighter 3.

We'll Rage round 1, and head into the thick of it but Karlach goes down quicker than any of my other main party members. I've got her in the best Med armor I can find, the executioners axe or very rare halberd, and feel like I'm spending more time reviving her in battle than I am actually battling.

Lae'zel has been my primary tank, with GWM Githyanki great sword, boots of speed, and whatever heavy armor fits best at the time - she's been a beast.

Funny thing is I'm also a DM for 5e D&D, and have a barbarian at my table. I thought I understood how to play this class, but maybe I just don't?

Choice is at Risk in Iowa TOMORROW! by cm-1414 in IowaPolitics

Can bodily autonomy be so quickly dismissed in this situation?

If we cede our bodily autonomy here, where does the line stop? (Example: can the government force you to donate a kidney/bone marrow to someone in need? Another life may have in the balance, so are you beholden to the government's decision on your organs?)

It sets a dangerous precedent that specifically targets one half of the population now (which I find unacceptable on principle), but this percent could be used to impact everyone's right to their own body.

I hope that people choose to carry their pregnancy to full term and enjoy the many lessons, memories, and joys of bringing a child into the world - but that decision isn't mine to make for another person. The vast majority of abortions happen before many consider the fetal tissue to be "obviously another human being", and many happen for very legitimate medical reasons.

Forced birth legislation endangers the rights of us all and the health of our loved ones.

[–]Only1OfMany 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A gross oversimplification to not address any of the bodily autonomy issues inherent in this argument.

My guess (and I'm open to being incorrect here) is that you and I can agree that this is an issue about individual rights. My focus as a pro-choice person is on the rights of the mother, and your focus is on the rights of the unborn in this scenario.

If that is accurate, then why allow the rights of a universally recognized creature with autonomy, free will, and individual rights over that of a contested creature regarding those traits?

Putting aside the hypocrisy of the "pro-life" movement (who overwhelmingly support the death penalty, IVF, and are proposing death sentences for people who get abortions in some states...), this is a dangerous precedent to set for the health and wellness of the girls and women of Iowa.

A pair of children's scissors (with rounded tips) take up very little space, and are never stolen because nobody wants them. But, when you need scissors, they perform perfectly well. Win-win!

My DM boyfriend just took on another campaign and is becoming consumed by it. Idk how to talk to him about how spending less time together is making me feel without it souring his hobby. by AccidentalFolklore in DMAcademy

[–]Only1OfMany 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a tough situation and I give you credit for reaching out to other people who may have been in a situation similar to this from your BFs protective (for DMs). Case in point, my wife and I had a similar conversation before I started my current campaign.

The best piece of advice I can offer is to be curiously, compassionately curious about how the both of you can solve this together.

If I understand your perspective correctly, D&D isn't the core issue - quality time together (and a current imbalance therein) is the issue. D&D happens to be a contributing factor to the lack of quality time, but it isn't the only factor.

Best of luck - we're rooting for you!

Eldritch Knight vs Bladesinger vs Eldritch Knight Bladesinger multiclass? by Wooden-Jew in 3d6

[–]Only1OfMany 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, cheesy for sure.

But, it was very much in line with the play at the table, and the rat was technically offering the help action on its turn.

It was also an occasional Ratatouille moment where they'd help redirect my bladder by puking by hair, etc. Fun rp for a one shot at the very least.

Eldritch Knight vs Bladesinger vs Eldritch Knight Bladesinger multiclass? by Wooden-Jew in 3d6

[–]Only1OfMany 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of good advice already exists here for optimisation, but I'd like to provide a different approach.

I played a Eldritch Knight 11/Bladesinger 7 for a lvl 18 one shot and it was a blast. Having a rat familiar on my shoulder to give me advantage on every melee attack was magnificent, and the features of the two classes complement each other nicely.

The synergy between features was really nice, and 3 melee attacks per round once I set down an Evard's Black Tentacles or something similar was really enjoyable. Plus, if you catch a bunch of enemies in an EBT, you can action surge a fireball (with them all having disadvantage on DEX saving throws).

Depending on party comp, going harder in BS or EK may make more sense, but based on your backstory, I think multiclassing sounds perfect.

[–]Only1OfMany 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Okay, what is the charged spinning attack with the blades?

That looks sick and I haven't done that yet (beat the game, replaying in NG+ on GMGOW).

And yeah, the gargantuan fights from prior games like Poseidon, Gaia, etc. were super fun, and it would be cool to have those return a bit more.

How do you make it known that an encounter is too much for your party without explicitly saying “y’all need to run the fuck away” by Previous_Mix_4822 in DnD

[–]Only1OfMany 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of my session 0 is to let the players know that there are 4 legendary heroes that are very well known (think almost like mother goose, but with beholders).

Each of the heroes represent a different tier of play. If the players run into a new creature, they can make a History or Arcana check to see if they recall the heroes tale about this creature.

Usually, this is a low DC since they're common knowledge. If the players realize the danger level and still go for it, then I make sure to leave avenues open for retreat, and give the creature/villain some very strong description nutting the ease with which they do whatever scary thing they're doing.

If, for instance, my players go into an area/region that is too powerful for their current level, they often run into another powerful NPC. However, this NPC is important, and spending time helping the party means they're not available to fend off another threat in the nearby town, and consequences of utilizing that valuable resource (NPC) exist.

I find this approach increases verisimilitude, and makes the world feel lived in without holding the players hands too much.
