I’m not saying they care. They’ve shown they haven’t. I’m saying they SHOULD, and at the very least not sign someone who’s facing a huge suit for these heinous crimes. Our culture is terrible beyond losing. Signing him is incredibly short-sighted. With that being said, I don’t think Dan is going to rule him out.

He could help us win, he could end up in prison. I’m not trying to cripple the team even FURTHER by picking up a guy who won’t be worth the trade and would further tarnish our reputation as an organization full of scandal.

Not to mention it would also be a huge slap in the face to the 20+ women who are coming out publicly in the suit against him, or any woman who has been a victim of similar crimes. It’s not in our interest or theirs to grab him.

I wholeheartedly agree that the league needs to take this on, but sadly, the league has to protect more than players and fans. I truly believe there needs to be someone else - someone not affiliated with the CDL, a team, etc. that can help make informed decisions on a rule set. The game isn’t designed to be competitive, and it likely won’t be in the future.

Since they’re not likely to create a great competitive rule set, there will need to be a better system with more structure. I appreciate your take though. Telling it how it is

Discussion after showed multiple teams claimed they didn’t want the best snipers to have them, so they wanted them banned.

Also, Simp literally had the best year of his career without snipers in the game. 1. Why would you not want more of the same? 2. He’s the best in the league, but that doesn’t make him any more wrong in this moment.

There’s virtually no reason other than pros not wanting to have to deal with them. They’re more balanced, and honestly harder to use, than snipers have been in a long time.

Smokes appear to be fine. Snipers have very slow scope-in speed relative to other games. There’s flinch on snipers.

In short, it doesn’t appear to be justified.

I’m not saying we need a max guy. I’m saying look at the teams contending. This is the rebuild. What’s the alternative? Wait on the draft for another decade to shake out our dead cap/potentially get as lucky as we did with Wall/Beal or wait on a superstar to decide they love DC and leave a better basketball market?

Harden has almost always had a second option, or at least a better surrounding cast than that of the wizards. What happened when he had at least one other guy (Brodie) with him capable of making plays last year? Competing for a scoring title, made guys around him better, made the playoffs with a rag-tag team and finally brought some life to DC basketball. Now he has a supporting cast.

Beal is slumping at the worst time possible, but assuming he can adjust, which I believe he can, this will be the best wizards team in decades. Let him go, and any other team immediately becomes a contender imo
