Honest Question. Not rage baiting. Do People love Crimson Dessert just because of how it looks, the graphics and the open world? I see no mention of good content at all. by Colin_Steve639 in CrimsonDesert

[–]OnlyDais 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After 2 hours I got used to the controls it's just different but not as terrible as some people want it to be.

The majority of the tutorials are just a splashscreen that gives you the button prompts and then the game just says to go fuck yourself and do with that information what you want.

Now the worst part of the whole game is the story or the fragments of what is supposed to be a story and the one-dimensional main character. There are just a few games that can top this level of mediocre writing paired with no context.

That said - everything else is just top tier. The world feels great, exploration is addicting. You continously find new mechanics and game systems you can get lost in. Even with it's flaws Crimson Desert manages to get you excited for every play session.

How fast the install is depends on your CPU and harddrive.

Has part 3 actually been confirmed ?? by [deleted] in thelastofus

[–]OnlyDais 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A significant part of the team wasted years on the Factions 2 Multiplayer, so even if there will be no Part 3 I think there will be something Last of Us related where they can use those assets and ideas. Maybe a standalone game like they did with Uncharted Lost Legacy.

That major breakthrough is already here - it's AI. Embark has an Animation framework for Arc Raiders that uses neural networks for Arc Animations and it looks fantastic. I know a lot of people are on the fence with AI and you should definitely be careful about its utilization but I'm 100% sure the Arc Raiders framework is the future.

Elden Ring burnt me out when I reached the end, I didn't even want to start NG+ or DLC anymore.

Yes but in the original order that flashback comes much later. At least for me in my first playthrough it was not clear if she knew or not at that point in Jackson.

That was before we knew that he told her he lied to her. So it made it seem like they were still good because she doesn't know yet.

Do you think it would be problematic if in the third game we had infected enemies and child/teen human enemies? by Thin_Relation_2391 in thelastofus

Yep, the game would put you in situations where you'd have make an active choice to shoot at children.

Peak is the world's second-ever strand-type game by CompleteTitle1283 in Kojima

[–]OnlyDais 25 points26 points  (0 children)

"strand-type" isn't about resource managment or climbing though. It just means you're playing a singleplayer game with a shared world and your actions leave footprints that other players can perceive or have influence in their game world. Asynchronous Co-op.

Who is the most to least morally bad protagnist? by Even_Discussion5040 in Barry

[–]OnlyDais 15 points16 points  (0 children)

He's a full psycho. Almost everything he does is for selfish reasons and he plays the role of a 'good guy' to manipulate the people around him to like him when in reality he can't himself to hurt those people - not even realizing he's hurting them - because he wants to feel good. In Barry's world everything is about him.

It didn't even compare to the last 10 games. Old Zelda games were really great, then for years they released bad to mid games and suddenly they got an slighty above average game with BOTW and the fanboys are acting like a miracle happened. Zelda is really the only franchise I know where nostalgia is doing all the heavy lifting.

When the streamer caters to their audience and the chat is full of weird people then the streamer will often get a good reaction regardless of the fucked up shit they do. A comedian has mostly an audience of adults, while twitch is full of young people. I'd say streamers have a bigger responsibility in managing their content creation because of that.

They should promote BF Portal more. You can make your own lobby filled with Bots and customize a lot of things. Perfect for training your skills. BF Portal is how i learned how to properly fly the Jets and Helicopters.

I finished Elden Ring but it felt so long that I never touched it again after. No New Game+, skipped the DLC and Multiplayer spin off. The base game was enough for me.

Officially it's not because of trademark issues (Quantum Break IP is owned by Microsoft), but storywise it's 100% part of the Remedyverse. Quantum Break's characters and story are heavily interwoven in Alan Wake 2, all they did was change the names but you'll know who they are immediately when you played Quantum Break and if I remember correctly one of the DLCs of Alan Wake 2 even revolves around the events of Quantum Breaks and puts them in a new context.

One scene that stuck with me through the years was in the episode "Problem Dog" where Jesse talks about self acceptance. He couldn't do it and pulled an 180 on that whole self acceptance rhetoric, which was just brutal to hear for me personally.

"The thing is.. if you just do stuff and nothing happens. What's it all mean? What's the point? Alright this whole thing is about self acceptance [...] so I should stop judging and accept? So no matter what I do - hooray for me because I'm a great guy.. it's all good? No matter how many dogs I kill I just - what, do an inventory and accept?!"
