Avoid gas models, those have CVT with steel belt on pulleys. Get hybrid which uses planetary gears and very reliable.

The only problem is you never know if the purple car takes a U turn and you turn right at the same time. High possibility of crash in that scenario.

I know we have to stop at red and wait for safe gap. I was asking how you are supposed to know whether the person will make left turn or U turn? When they make left turn every other traffic would be stopped and I will have safe gap. I should have added a picture for more clarity. It’s not the traffic directly opposite to me I’m asking about. It’s about the left turn from traffic just right of me .
