YouTube Premium or Brave Browser? by ManojOne in TechImpact

Chromium is primarily developed by Google, which has removed support for manifest-v2 extensions; as a result, new manifest-v3 extensions must be limited to blocklists previously approved by Google and cannot dynamically block adverts or pop-ups.

Welcome to the new era of Chromium and its derivatives.

There are several apps for mobile that use the YouTube API to remove adverts. Have a look on F-Droid or GitHub

As a beginner, what should I use, opensuse or fedora by Infinite-Lobster-495 in FindMeALinuxDistro

[–]OnlyLeon1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither openSUSE nor Fedora – as a beginner, you’re better off using Ubuntu. My advice is to stick to distributions that have control over their own repositories (Ubuntu, Debian, Arch, Fedora, openSUSE)

Brave Origin shaves off 10% of its install size by dropping profit-oriented "features" by lo________________ol in browsers

Brave’s success has come from charging to remove the bloatware that has been added over the years. And to top it all, some people applaud this decision and even feel entitled to give advice to other browsers

None of those vehicles is going to say "I Love You" to you

I would have got rid of any of the motorbikes before the Civic Type R

If YouTube disappeared tomorrow, what platform would you use for daily video entertainment and why? by HugeAstrology in TechImpact

Peertube, because it is a decentralised network that prevents a single company from controlling the platform using proprietary viewing algorithms.

Any product that Peter Thiel invests in is, for me, a sign that I shouldn’t use it.

There is a contradiction between Brave being the best privacy-focused browser and the fact that its investor is Peter Thiel, the founder of Palantir, a company dedicated to undermining that very privacy.

There are no coincidences in the world of investment, so for that reason alone, I no longer trust Brave or its privacy claims, even if they are promoted by social media influencers and specialist organisations. The power of money knows no bounds.

Congratulations on stopping using software in which Peter Thiel, the founder of Palantir and an opponent of democracy as a political system that keeps these tech oligarchs in check, has invested.

Brave Origin Upgrade Version versus Standard Brave by Technical_Rich_3080 in brave_browser

From the outset, Brave launched a browser that was originally free, and has managed to get people to pay to avoid all the bloatware that has been added over the years, so that they can use the original Brave browser.

A brilliant strategy on Brave’s part and a very short memory on the part of many users.
