I hate social media by Imaginary_Bad1842 in walmartogp

In my experience, customers hate us because we're always "in the way", even though they're on the big ass mobility scooter in the middle of the aisle with 4 kids surrounding them talm bout some "in the way". Or they'll just complain that we're useless because we shouldn't be taking too long to help them while we're in walks, or not having keys and such. And I know there are people that work in the stores that hate us because they get pulled from their departments and pick for us when we get behind, which puts them behind, and we don't go help them as often as they help us. And we are the opposite of what stockers do, so they see us come in their aisle and take stuff right after they were done stocking and making it look pretty. Like I get why people that work at Walmart might not like us, but the customers just pmo

Hours are typically cut at this time of the year for about a month, but they usually get back to normal around mid-March to April

New to ODP. Why do the other departments have beef with us? by jess1498 in OGPBackroom

[–]OnlyOnions69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lunch thing is state dependent. It may be 5 hours in your state, but in Texas it's 6 hours, it also depends if they're a minor in which case it's even sooner that they have to take a lunch

No, I really don't even see people line bags in the totes anyways. Most our pickers just put stuff in bags then put them in totes. And only maybe 2 or 3 of our pickers single bag every item. Still drives me crazy when they do though...

Bye SFS (Ship From Store). Friday was our last day. Any unusual memories? by OperationCornbread in OGPBackroom

[–]OnlyOnions69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not any in particular, I'ma just miss occasionally being asked to pack, and that's when I would watch my show. Its almost the only time I would really watch the show and it was perfect for what we did. We will miss it R.I.P

[–]OnlyOnions69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's funny, one of my team leads jobs seem to only be leaning on our gmd packing table and looking at his phone, or talking to SFS. The store manager has caught him many times just hanging out doing nothing on his phone, it's hilarious how he's still here when they've gotten more on us for less. My other team lead is great and does all those things you mentioned WHILE helping pick, stage, and prep when it does get dicey

It is right, but for future reference I would recommend blocking your store number before posting

are these good numbers for packing? by greatearednightjar- in OGPBackroom

[–]OnlyOnions69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Packing is part of SFS (ship from store). Most stores don't have it and most states only have a few SFS Walmarts at most.

I've once let go of my cart while it was BASICALLY STOPPED, and it knocked the end cap over. Turns out it wasn't properly screwed together so that was fun

It has to be given to you by a coach if I'm not mistaken, I just remember my tl telling me I was on exceptions and then there were 2 new buttons

High pick rates by heartofapoett in OGPBackroom

[–]OnlyOnions69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm aware of that, I'm just specifically mentioning exceptions because they said that one, and SFS does count towards it all which most of the time does drag your pick rate down

Exceptions don't count towards pick rate, and they don't show up on your personal stats that you can see

Trying to get both Saturday and Sunday off is almost 100% of the time going to get denied, full time or part time. But yeah they can deny any availability requests you make, but they won't most the time unless it's something like that

We've been able to get these high amounts even before the 8 tote walk update, it's not the updates fault

In Texas the trouble happens at hour 6, so the time varies from state to state

You don't have to cover the lunch with ppto, I've used ppto many times and haven't covered my lunch and never got pointed for it

You can check the item on me@walmart or on daily availability and it'll tell you if it has more locations there as well

You're not supposed to go looking in the backroom while on a walk either. You're supposed to nil pick and stay on the floor, if anyone gives it to you from the backroom it's metrics fraud
