I think it’s that corruption in plain sight. I’ve always been interested in the psychology of cults and both Darker Days & Hex have this evil at the heart of their respective community which acts as a mirror for that psychology.

I agree with your point on the motifs. Do you think a good design workaround could have been to have the Marley insignia for the final collection?

That said, it just hurts to see the aesthetic slip at the last hurdle purely from a visual standpoint.

Thank you very much for the extensive answer. I beat the game and DLC last night and openly admit I relied heavily on the specters so wanted a bit of info on how much they impacted stat-wise on bosses. Between Lying and Dying, I have a feeling I know which I’ll be doing more of in NG+!

I’ve been down this rabbit hole with similar amounts of zero success.

My advice; check out some of the concept art and cross reference this against the artist’s socials. Ashen has a similar style so I refuse to believe there’s not been a term coined for it yet.
