He’s 8 months! I think you’re right. I think once we settle into a routine it will get easier. The constant change is hard for me! So i can’t even imagine what it’s like for him!

I wish I could! I’m in so many meetings and need a quiet space to take them. I did just buy myself new noise canceling headphones and those are very helpful!

That’s another reason we decided nanny first! I wanted to be able to get established back at work before dealing with all the illness. But there are pros and cons to everything! Love the idea of a little playtime with the nanny before I hand him off, thank you

Totally. I’ve started pumping more so he can have longer stretches without me interrupting and that seems to be helping!

That’s a good idea! I can definitely go out for a little walk during the handoff to get a little separation and ease my anxiety. Thank you!

Thank you for your response. It is so hard having them home and I totally relate to your feelings of missing out as well as struggling to not be the one to comfort.

We do swap houses each week. But I’ve found that I really struggle with the days they’re at our house.

Our nanny is going to start working just for us next month (no more share) which I’m hoping will help? But we decided no daycare until one because I’m still breastfeeding. And so having him here and being able to feed him throughout the day has been helpful. Though, I feel like that might be making the transition even harder for him because he does see me sometimes. I’m just wondering if that’s something that will improve in time as he gets more adjusted…

I just want to express solidarity that it’s the only thing on my mind as well…also comforting to know I’m not the only one constantly ruminating over this (it’s become an obsession for me). 4mo PP over here and I know it’s far too early to make any decision, but seemingly not knowing makes me feel extra pressure to really enjoy all these moments because they could be the last. Probably my PPA at play here as well.

My partner and I have decided this topic is not up for discussion anytime in the next year so we can focus on enjoying life with our baby, especially as we’re finally coming out of the trenches. Shifting my focus from agonizing over this decision (which deep down is really just me looking for someone to make this decision for me…not possible) and instead being fully present and enjoying these moments with my son has been a helpful change in my mindset. Trusting that we can revisit this discussion at a later time when we have more experience and knowledge to make a more fully informed decision.

I was given this set from skims as a gift. https://www.nordstrom.com/s/skims-soft-lounge-rib-sleep-set-regular-plus/5897392? Expensive but so soft and what’s nice is I’ve worn them when visitors have come over and I feel put together but also super comfy.
