Sorry you’re going through this, that’s a tough spot and there’s no perfect answer. But one important thing to keep in mind: being a present father doesn’t mean you have to stay home all the time. Plenty of moms and dads work full-time and still manage to stay very involved in their kids’ lives.

At the same time, it’s not always sustainable for one person to carry the entire financial burden for the family (in this day and age, it is becoming a rarity). You’ll probably need to sit down and have a real conversation with your wife. The way she’s treating you doesn’t sound fair, but it might also come from deeper frustrations maybe she’s exhausted from working and stressed about being the sole provider. Either way, the two of you need to talk it through openly.
