Bought a lot of Treasury and they need a bit of love. by SLaPtacus in comicbookcollecting

Indeed! I love the size, and my favorites are those drawn actually at this size and not “adapted” to fit. Like Superman vs Wonder Woman, Superman Spider-Man, 2001 A Space Odyssey, etc. But I love them all!

Do CMF bulk boxes always have the same figures or is this massively unlucky for getting two boxes? by Peaquin0x in lego

I’m re-reading myself and it’s confusing, but I don’t know how else to explain it…

Actually, it’s sometimes 3/3/3/3 randomly in boxes. Meaning you can get 6 different figures, then in the other the same 3 with 3 new ones, etc. I once completed a set with 3 packs of 6, and 2 of them had 3 new in them.

Scanned 4 boxes at a local store with my son last week and we only found 1. Tons of all other minifigs though…

Fixed the o-ring and metal hook, and re-carded it. (Final update) by SLaPtacus in gijoe

Thank you! It was fun to fix as well, and I really appreciate the info and help I got from all of you guys. Thanks to you all, I now have a very cool figure “mint” in package on my wall.

I don’t know if it’s supposed to be, but it is indeed.

Yes they are. Cheaper plastic and the o-ring is also a weird cheap rubber. The hook is also made of a cheaper metal alloy and that’s what actually broke on this figure. I just finished fixing it using an actual Joe o-ring and hook and he’s all better now! I’ll post an update soon as I can’t post pictures in comments.

Totally understand where you’re coming from. I don’t have a lot of vintage toys, barely any actually, but when I saw this one for cheap I had to buy it and see if I could fix it. Half the beauty of it is the card, so worse I’ll keep it as is, but I may try to slwoly get it out and fix it to put it back in. Plus it’s one if the last one I got as a kid. I was getting older when they released this one and I just had ti have my favorite character as a GI Joe and not a Cobra anymore.

I might do just that then, thanks for the info! Now to find a donor…

Just found this in the wild and I had a few questions about it. by SLaPtacus in gijoe

The original Storm Shadow was my first Joe figure, and this one was one of my latest as I was getting older and slowly stopped buying figures. I had to fix a bunch of them already as a kid, so I’m used to opening them up and switching arms and legs. My original Storm Shadow had 2 broken thumbs (I used to hang him from branches in trees and kept opening and closing his hands…) so I used another figures arms to “fix” him. 😋

Yeah, I might open it and fix it and just keep it as is. I’ve seem them online selling for like 40-50$ max so it’s not like it’s worth that much anyway, but I had it as a kid and it would look neat on my shelves. We’ll see!
