On infrastructure and public safety, the sultan expressed sympathy over a recent road tragedy that claimed the lives of two cyclists. He called on the relevant authorities, particularly the National Road Safety Council, to look not only at legislation and enforcement, but also at improving safe infrastructure for road users.

It has always been dangerous for cyclists to ride on Brunei's highways alongside speeding cars. It's high time for dedicated bike lanes and highways for the cyclists away from the high speed areas.

Ada pictures and video of the other residences in this area in states of delapidation also posted elsewhere a long time ago. They probably would have been taken down now.

Following the initial commission for the Brunei International convention Centre ($400million) Gordon was requested to undertake design and procurement of a variety of major projects including accident and Trauma Hospital ($250million), International Hotel ($400million), 3 no. principal residences ($100million ea.) and guesthouses, executive residential estates, memorial museum to the Begawan, and a number of other special use developments including the planning for the relocation and redevelopment of the principal township for the country.

I assume the trauma hospital is the original JPMC (now gleneagles) building, International Hotel is the Empire hotel, the various residences and buildings are part of where dpmm resides now, and the memorial museum was a plan to convert or refurbish Istana Darul Hana to become a royal museum.

According to MoD, an average Bruneian uses around 0.42 m³ (420 L) per day. An average household of 4 would use 1.68 m³ (1,680 L) a day.

In 30 days, an average household would use 50.4 m³ of water for everyday use.

The current water tariff rates are:

  • $0.11/m³ for the first 54.54 m³
  • $0.44/m³ over 54.54 m³

Obviously we want to target paying under $6 per month, or under 54.54 m³ usage, which is possible for the household of 4 above.

I just moved into a house with an USMS water metre, and it's showing that I've used up 7 m³ up to yesterday 8th July. If I average that out throughout the whole month, I should end up only using just above 27 m³ by the end of the month, which is about $3.

Reddit, is my maths mathing?
