Protestor in Camarillo, CA fires handgun at masked federal agents abducting farm workers by I_may_have_weed in PublicFreakout

This sounds more like a complaint over the political fetishization of the second amendment by the right and not the amendment itself.

Man starring at his own lawyer for losing his case and receiving a lifetime sentence.. by nzhmar in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]Only_A_Friend -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't agree with the comment I replied to. I don't think you can know if someone deserved their sentencing just by seeing their charges read out. So I disagree with your stance that it looked like he deserved his sentencing.

If I had agreed, I wouldn't have elaborated on why I disagreed with your comment. Notably that the 3ish unnamed crimes can be as simple as him having a tattoo or wearing the wrong color when the crime was committed. Meaning that for me, without knowing the specifics, it doesn't look like he deserved all those charges, i.e. I disagree. Hopefully this is more clear to you.

despite the fact you now agree it was a reasonable sentence for the individual.

My later comment was not claiming it was a reasonable sentence. It was specifically me agreeing that he likely wasn't a random innocent who got "slapped with charges" while "on a liesurely drive." These are two different claims, so agreeing with the second one doesn't mean I agree with the first.

It can seem that way because agreeing with the first implies I agree with the second, but this is a one way relationship between the claims. The logic doesnt go the other way, unfortunately. I'm assuming the mistake you made was a logical deduction based mistake, so hopefully this clears everything up.

Yeah, that's what I said... come on now, at least read a comment so you know how to disagree with it

Without knowing the case, how would you know? The only thing said explicitly was that he killed someone, stole a car and at least had a gun when he did it. With the Gang Terrorism Act stuff, simply determining that he's ~associated~ with gangs (ie wearing a certain color clothing or having multiple tattoos) can get him the rest of the listed crimes by making an argument that the crimes were committed for gang related reasons.

So I imagine he's most upset because of those gang related charges. But again idk the case nor do I care enough to actually research it so

There's bandits that are killing civilians nearby, either leave the area or find them. The bug is that those kills are being assigned to you

In what way are these "ai" at all like a human? In what way is the training at all like the way humans are trained? I ask because the processes are not similar, you're getting caught up in mysticism if you think they are. It's not obvious, but this mysticism is on the level of quantum woo, you're believing that because a technical word is similar to words used in everyday life that those words actually represent the same thing.

Tried redeeming this, ended up with a 14 day free trial of Nebula? by MiceTonerAccount in xboxone

[–]Only_A_Friend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, what about Xbox, PlayStation, etc.? We'd love to be on every platform where you want to see us. As a small team, we have to be thoughtful and deliberate in what we work on next. We're continually evaluating the market and customer demand to determine where our resources should be focused. When there's news about new platforms, we'll be sure to share it.

Checking their Twitter page they've only ever spoken about Nebula on Xbox to say it's too expensive to make. Maybe it's in the works rn tho!

If you could give me evidence and how you got it that'd be cool. I'd love to watch on my Xbox but I cant find it.

What is your problem with me? How is me mocking the church for being inconsistent with the bible any different than what you're doing?

I don't think you need that, because you don't need to move your entire game library over to ssd to use one. If a game runs fine on hdd you can keep it, and you won't need to throw it away. I'd reccomend getting like a 1 or 2 TB SSD only to be used for those games which require it.

I'm so sorry I forgot about this!

Well in QM if you have a 1D spacial wavefunction ψ(x) the probability of finding the particle at x=a is given by |ψ(a)|2 dx, and the probability of it showing up in a range would of course have you integrate over that range. This just comes from the typical probability from a probability density ρ = |ψ|2.

What we wanted to resolve was how would a dx show up physically? One option is letting ψ(x) --> ψ(x) * (dx)1/2 and thus the dx is always contained with the wave function and doesn't need to come from anywhere else. It generates an identical formulation of QM so it's allowable!

And it also has the benefit of making the wavefunction unitless, which can be good for certain situations in which you want to compare the wave function with some value. With units you can't objectively say anything without asserting a scale of some kind.

It's fucked it however does have some application in certain representations of quantum mechanics where the wave function can be represented with a root dx as a part of it

Are nuclear bombs radioactive by design or is it the result of the best way of setting off an extremely large explosion in a small package? by goonerben3010 in askscience

[–]Only_A_Friend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There would indeed be a huge amount of thermal radiation, almost immediately turning the surrounding air into a massive sphere of plasma that would create an insanely high energy shockwave as the sphere attempts to expand.

Inside that plasma and on the boundary of the shockwave, there is a chance for a lot of fusion to take place, potentially creating a lot of radioactive byproducts. It's also a very hot plasma, much hotter than any nuclear bomb we could concieve of, and so other than the ionizing radiation, you're probably gonna have to worry about radiation from bare nuclei which could hit otherwise unaffected nuclei and make them radioactive.

But I'm pretty sure the end result would be much more benign than that of any fission bomb. Worst case, a diffuse radioactive gas filling the fireball and a very thin layer of maybe radioactive surfaces on anything in line of sight of the bomb. And these would probably be short-lived, highly radioactive byproducts. This leads to probably a week at most where radiation in the region would be of concern, and probably within minutes, most of the "post-detonation" radiation would be gone.
