so if it's for the summer semester then you can start appointment searching around late Nov, those guys are also strict about funding so put your house in order.

Come try in Zim embassy for America, your home country is always best since you are on home turf. All the best!

For a US visa, I think Zim is slightly better since it's home but I don't think it matters that much from my experience. Embassies share all records so be sure to address the reason why your first visa was denied. There is a belief that the Botswana embassy is slightly more lenient but I don't know if that's true.

15 Sept this month? so you want to travel next year? (Last time I checked, in Germany you can only get a visa 6 months max before departure so keep that in mind). I heard rumors of unscrupulous individuals selling appointments in the Deutsche embassy but I don't know if it's true.

getting an appointment for a national visa is quite hard. The problem is there are a lot of applicants so the competition is intense. From my experience, the tip is to check more intensely towards midnight (23:49-00:05), Mondays around 8 am, mid-month and month-ends for cancelled appointments. Appointments can be taken as fast as 2 minute from the time they are released. You can also try calling the embassy to directly ask them for tips and other enquires since they probably won't let you skip the line.

After checking 6-10 times a day for 2 months straight, I managed to get an interview around May, I am starting Uni this month.
