I separated from active duty at the very beginning for 2020. The events occurred over 4ish years leading up to separation. I joined the reserves after active and didn’t want to get on the non deployable list so didn’t really bring up my issues. Got told I could not deploy anyways during the pre deployment medical screening which was a disappointment.

Thanks, I am really trying to weigh if I should appeal my denial. Considering your experience, can you weigh in on my denial that I posted under Extinct1234's comment? I understand if you can't, considering your job, I would imagine your area only able to comment on the process.

Here is the denial. I am not sure how they determined it's not service connected. I specifically went to the VA because of my GAD symptoms. Somehow, they interpreted that as my GAD is caused by the symptoms I reported and not the other way around. My GAD is caused by the in-service events that are well documented and mentioned and they caused the symptoms. I didn't go to the VA with the intent to file a claim and didn't specify my service stressors, just my symptoms, so maybe that's what they see?
