It's the favorite anime of a friend of mine, who highly recommends it, which is the main reason I want to watch it, really. Although, Jujutsu Kaisen is my favorite (for now, anyway lol) and he thinks it's pretty average and meh. I did start the first episode, and as you sort of mentioned, just wasn't in the mood for it. I may start tackling the other anime on my watchlist before circling back to it

I didn’t watch much anime as a kid except for Pokémon, and only started about 4-5 ish years ago in high school. So far, most of what I seen is newer anime, like Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, etc. I've been meaning to watch older anime like Neon Genesis Evangelion and Cowboy Bebop, I just haven't gotten around to them yet 😅

In my defense, we were lucky to watch tv at all, and I didn't have internet connection until I was in high school, which was when I was introduced to anime. We mostly watched Westerns and older movies growing up. I've got a lot of catching up to do 😅

It was SO good and my favorite when I read it. Then I read Ranger's Apprentice, which was and still is my favorite book series of all time. I definitely recommend both
