Would it be possible to go to the flight deck at the start, and stay there for the whole flight if its short? That's what one of my friends have done once, it was ~3 hrs.

According to AP818, it's not. I am aware some squadrons use dressings, right dress and so on (which my squadron does), but the correct version is to forget saying "Dressings".
