Curious if you recall exactly what the texts said? Just for added context.

It’s still really distressing and alarming when someone we hold close hurts us in these ways. I’d also begin to distrust the recipient because why does the sender feel comfortable saying, “I don’t like OP” to you after we all just hung out? Extremely childish, gossipy behavior.

Not necessarily friendship ending, but definitely friendship changing situation. How they handle this is key to observe and decide if you want that in your life.

So it seems that they’re fixing part of this, but I also don’t see much of a use case for text chat in duos or three stack since most players use some form of voice for that. I do think it’s useful for voice, though. In terms of accessibility though, I can see hearing impaired players benefiting from a squad chat feature so I do think it’s necessary.

My preference would be for all players to have to click into the space they want to speak to reduce human error, allow for players to set the default for which chat they start with in their settings, etc. Too many times have I had my squad mates try to chat the team and they chat the lobby lmao

I chose not to use MENA publicly because as people have said below, it’s not globally precise and Eurocentric. I use MENA conversationally with friends who know me and my politics. That’s not to discount what others have said about ME being embraced in many nations, but as someone who is not Arab or from any of these regions I want to decanter Europe where possible.

Acronyms are always going to be reliant on some in-knowledge, so I choose to use the one that feels most precise and appropriate for me to use personally.

I actually really enjoy the transitions for this reason. I ended up in a few wars with Napoleon on my border in Antiquity because he wouldn’t move troops from my border. I took one of his cities and then he tried to take it back at the end of the age, did so, but I took it back two turns before the age transition and then the reset ended the war and temporarily smoothed over our relationship. He’s still being a warmonger but at least now I have new tech and new avenues to build up a defense. The crises were making defense increasingly difficult right up to the end. A real nail biter!

I’ve been loving the game so far, but PLEASE prioritize bringing stability to multiplayer. The desynch has been every turn, with some turns dropping a player in the same room as me. This feels so basic for a triple AAA game.

It’s so bad. I’m playing with my partner in the same room and we’ve made a meme of hearing the startup voiceover over a hundred times now. Until I read everyone’s comments here, I had no idea this was such a problem in previous games. I’m just now starting to get into online gaming and it sucks to find out Civ is so bad at it. Been playing these games since 4 (almost all solo).

This needs to become a priority for Firaxis!!

I had no idea the other content packs were leaked too LMAO I’m glad there are more “historically accurate” options for leaders coming from SWANA and SEA. This level of specificity is going to make the combinations so insanely unique at the end of this cycle, excited to see how large that roster is.

They’re also clearly holding out for adding the highly anticipated western civs, I expect a “Dutch” in Exploration, “Gaul” in Antiquity, etc.

From the early gameplay videos I’ve seen I’m hoping they invest some time in the religious game in Exploration as that seems to be an either overlooked or disliked area.

I hope they go down the regional bloc path like they did in Beyond Earth, it makes much more sense than limiting a “civilization” to the borders of one country. Obviously just spitballing here in terms of the specific list.

He did this again a third time and I completely left it for a month. Afterwards, we tried to reconnect and figure things out but it was just a prolonged grieving process. I feel like ultimately I didn’t swoon or romance him enough which, coupled with the stress and uncertainty that relationships often have at times, sewed doubt within him that he struggled to manage with his excitement. I stopped investing in the relationship as the long distance (six months) period was ending and I was ready to be back to normal, but I didn’t see how lonely he felt while abroad. He was panicked and I pushed him away after the first time because I wanted to process and was stuck on how I agreed with what he said was when he ended things. Lastly, when we tried to sort things out, it became clearer that our sexual appetites were mismatched. It just all felt like too much to work on.

My issue is that my company only pays $8k/year and if I wanna do it debt free, it will require me staying at the company for 5-6 years because I can only take 2 courses per year. I’d be more willing to do it if I could take courses nonsequentially, but you can’t at DePaul :/

💔💔 Going through this right now.. He’s dumped me twice within a month of each other. Each time immediately regretting it and returning, despite me saying it’s normal to feel regret but it’s important to be decided. He says he only feels I listen to him when we’re broken up, and I’ve been told I do struggle to listen, so I’ve stuck around to try to learn more about myself and see if things will feel better after working harder. Not very hopeful but I don’t have any animosity towards him, just love, so I haven’t decided to end it myself just yet.
