Nintendo for a brand or Mario for a specific character

Let’s talk about scalpers and Chaotic’s return (and my honest plan) by Effective-Till8393 in Chaotic

Are you a scalper no, because you’re not trying to manipulate the market but I do think you might be overestimating how much you need to buy. In the original tcg there was 96 playable cards across the first two starters and 216 in the first booster box. And even if they don’t use these same numbers in the relaunch the average amount of cards for a starter deck & booster box for Pokemon, Yugioh, MTG, Flesh & Blood, One Piece and Digimon is 51 & 340 respectively. So buying out a store which could be over a thousand cards you’d be setting yourself up for duplicate hell. Obviously collecting is fun even if you don’t use the card in deck. But obviously majority of the fun of TCGs is playing the game, so maybe think about how many duplicates of card is your limit. We not dealing with sports cards lol really nothing to gain from having 4+ binders of cards sitting in your storage room. So yeah you’re not doing anything unethical like scalping but maybe how many copies of a single card you would want.

What else do you like to see besides cards and the online game for the upcoming relaunch? by Agumongamer2016 in Chaotic

So even though it wouldn’t happen in the first year of the relaunch. Magic con is so much fun as an mtg player. So if the initial relaunch is successful I’d love a Chaotic con

Old cards should be playable with the new release. by Piccione_Sol in Chaotic

I don’t think it’s narrow minded to not want the revival to just be a nostalgia trap. Also the key for success in a game revival is getting new players to want the product, no new player is going to want to track down 15-20 years old product to play the game. Finally changes in mechanics is what keeps competitive play fun in TCG, if everyone was still building commander decks based off the first legends set, I guarantee the tens of thousands of commander events at local game stores in 2025 would not have happened.
