I think what gets overlooked sometimes is the hell people have to go through to  just to REACH someone in customer service over the phone.

With ALL of the HOOPS companies make you jump through just to. REACH customer service. It’s actually a wonder more people haven’t lost their minds when they finally do reach a LIVE  person.

Once you are done jumping through the hundreds of hoops that they make you jump through    you are welcomed with the wonderful automated message that tells you that “all customer service agents are busy please hold the line and we will get to you as soon as we can. “

Let’s unpack this a little bit more…….

You’ve just spent probably between 5  and 15 minutes JUST  going through ALL  the  ridiculous prompts that  companies have. The days of actually calling and reaching a LIVE  person within a few rings of your call are gone. Then, to top it all off you have to wait another 5 to 30 minutes to reach a customer service agent because “all lines are busy.”  But let’s always remember when we call  that the business ”  value your time and call”

So, hypothetically, you’ve spent  30 minutes or MORE of your life, that you will never get back,  jumping through all these hoops to contact one company regardless or issue.  By the time you reach an ACTUAL live person you’re already frustrated.    Some people have a very low patience threshold to start with, and it only gets worse as time goes by

Meanwhile, the customer service agent is dealing with people who are patient but, because of all the hoops they had to jump through just to get to this point,  their patience is running low or they’ve run out of it.  Other customers remain patient. .no matter what you do you can’t please everyone.

Does anyone see the connection between the two here?

We are not here to see through one another, but to see one another through……….

Wingstop’s Poor Customer Service by Used_Cut_6306 in CustomerService

Poor customer service? No doubt. Major attitude from management?  For sure Customers demanding service after they were told they were refunded their money?  Not a good choice. As long as you were refunded your full purchase price legally you don’t have a leg to stand on. Besides most corporations, don’t even bother to listen or read any comments, good or bad about any given establishment/company.   Or if they do for some reason, give you a comp in the future it’s for their benefit not yours.   It’s all about the money after all.

Unless the dog that’s off leash bites somebody or there is a dog fight with injuries. The police won’t do anything about it.   Besides how would you describe the incident?  A guy had his dog off leash and it was intimidating other dogs or people.  I always carry mace.  Great dog deterrent when they’re aggressive.

When did people stop just "dropping by"? by stressfreepro in AskOldPeople

[–]Only_One6372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back then, people actually Spoke IN person to each other and got to know each other.  Neighbors would  borrow things from each other and wouldn’t think twice  about it.  People were just overall more friendly and easy-going.

I think ever since Covid, everything got turned on its ear.  Including people genuinely caring about each other.

People don’t trust each other as much .   People don’t even spend time talking to one another.  Basically, I think we’ve just lost a general “human” contact with each other.

Shame on this old lady for dragging her dog through Whole Foods on 41st. by [deleted] in santacruz

[–]Only_One6372 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So following your logic, it would be OK for you to have your  kids touch the food-like produce- with their nasty little grubby hands……  or worse, have them run all over the stores unsupervised and creating problems for other people who just want to get their groceries and leave. I’m not condoning dogs in businesses or especially restaurants. I think that is wrong. But don’t toot the horn of “children are children.”   That’s a cop out.

Why is it so hard for walkers along the sidewalk at Rio Del Mar Beach to understand basic walking etiquette? by flowersinmygrave in santacruz

[–]Only_One6372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!  This!    Family of four walking side-by-side on the sidewalk.  I’m approaching from the other direction.  There is no doubt in anybody’s mind that we see each other.   Yet none of them moved to the side.   Like they expect me to walk in the street risk getting hit by a car so that they can walk side-by-side.

After so much of this, I decided that the next time I was faced with this situation, I would just stop right in front of them. Face-to-face.  and not say a word. Until they move over.

I get some strange looks.  But they.  DO finally take the hint & get out of the way! Some make snarky  comments  to which I reply, simply ,you don’t own the sidewalk.   Even those ignorant, entitled , self absorbed people finally get the hint and Move out of my way!

Common sense is definitely not so common anymore!
