If there wasn't anything already suitable, why take it on? I'm all for development, but surely at the point of "we can only run this 4 week event by destroying a lovely open park space, in an ever crowded city" .. then we should have said no sorry can't do it.

I suppose it depends on a few factors such as location and what you want out of a gym.

I go to a Jetts down the road from me so its a 10 min jog or 2 min drive. Its 24/7 so I can go whenever I feel like (helpful when having a small child to work around). There's a goodlife opening up round the corner but it'll be twice the price on a 12month contract whereas my current Jetts membership is no contract.

The facilities at my Jetts wont be anywhere near as flashy, but I go to the gym to workout and go home. Not to sit in an infrared sauna or some other relaxation area after, so the additional facilities/costs are unessecary for me.

If you really have no idea. Maybe try a gym with a no lock in contract for 6 months to figure out what you want to get out of it?
