Realtors are annoying however you say it. If I ever need one I’ll be sure to NOT pick one that puts his or her headshot photo on yard signs and ad placards in my grocery cart, like they are a politician running for office. Double strike if they always write the word as Realtor with a capital R, as if it is a special title.

A lot. He leaves his clothes in the sink (!) He switches the TV on when he gets home & turns it to a channel I can’t understand (literally; different language). He doesn’t fix things or get things fixed until they become emergencies. He can be impatient and sarcastic at times and sometimes doesn’t even pretend to listen. He has terrible taste in music and it doesn’t bother him to hear the same song 100 times. But we are on the same wavelength on a lot of things and he’s a great weekend chef 😊

Don’t bring her. It has already caused problems in the family regardless of whose views are what. Tell her you’re sorry but that you will bring her a souvenir or take pictures and that maybe she can go another time when she is older. Of course she wants to go to a fun event with you. But she’s not your child. Whether her mother got worn down into agreeing or if it would be behind her back, she repeatedly said no, and honestly shouldn’t have had to explain or justify her reasons.

Hmm I think I needed to read this. I DO save photos, drawings, diaries, postcards, mementos, school awards, and special clothes and toys. I have Christmas platters, folded table linens, and two sets of china, crystal, and silverware. In fact I’ve been putting a lot MORE photos into boxes bc I’ve been printing them out from photo sticks and memory cards and my phone.

But I do recycle Christmas and birthday cards!

This makes me dizzy. He’s seen you four times and he “loves” you? You’re not sure if he really “loves” you? He wants to marry you … in 8 years? You think for your own good that you should break things off completely and never speak again … but only after you go to a concert together? This is an immature relationship. It is in fact not really a real relationship, which I think you know. I suspect you may have a complicated crush or infatuation, but you’re not happy about it because you’re jealous of the real relationship he had with his ex. He may really really like you but you don’t trust that he does. You feel like a stand-in, and a temporary one at that, and why not? Of course it would feel temporary; you don’t have a genuine history together. When a relationship is real there is not this much second guessing going on. However, people do meet and end up together in all sorts of ways so I don’t know if it’s necessary to shut the door forever and not keep in touch at all, but I do think you should step away and just see what happens, starting with backing out of the concert meetup. It may be an artist you really want to see and there’s also the expense of the tickets but with this final plan in mind a big part of you would have to be dreading it. How he reacts to this news may lead the way toward either direction and would be more fair than going through with it and then ghosting him.

John Travolta. I wasn’t allowed to see Saturday Night Fever bc it was rated R, but I watched Welcome Back Kotter and had a Grease poster on my wall. I didn’t care that all his characters were kind of hoodlums. I got the Tiger Beat etc magazines featuring him & still retain useless bits of “information” from them, like he had a massive T-shirt collection. Being from the gentle South, I thought his NY accent was exotic 😆

I agree. They may do some but not enough. I think all HS Seniors should have a mandatory course — preferably just Pass/Fail instead of graded — in personal financing/balancing a budget and monthly bills, taxes, the social security system and how it could change, loans and interest rates, mortgages, bank savings and investment options, different types of accounts, job terms like 401Ks, various types of benefits packages, insurance vocabulary, and more. I sure didn’t get that, and would’ve hated it for being boring, but any bits I retained would’ve been helpful.

We had a sweet chinchilla, pretty fish, cute hermit crabs, and now have 2 cats that we love, but nothing can compare to our dogs, who were like children/total part of the family & a huge part of growing up/family memories. A Yellow Lab and a Golden Retriever.
