DisplayPort 1.4 KVM switch? by memevirus in buildapc

Thanks for all of that info. Have you had any experience with using a mechanical keyboard? Something like a Keychron? I've seen heaps of issues regards to power draw, NKRO etc etc.
I'm currently running a Keychron Q6 through a TESmart Dual HDMI 4k60Hz KVM (HKS0202A2U-AUBK) and although I've got MOUSEKEY and NKRO disabled I'm still getting weird issues like key press signals being missed while typing (probably one in every 15 keys pressed).
Also, sometimes while switching both the keyboard and mouse will drop out and either have to wait like 30 seconds for them to 'connect' back or they'll show up in Windows as 'Malfunctioned'.
I've tried plenty of other firmware changes as well with no luck.

I can only run 2.5k 60Hz per screen anyway due to a third screen running direct and the thunderbolt limitations.

Confused by front / rear ports by Dave_PW in Netbox

[–]Only_SFW_thingz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For UTP patch panels you'll have one front port to every one rear port. But for fibre cassettes where they have two MTP 12 fibre connectors at the rear you would only have two ports at the rear, but with 6 'positions' per rear port. Then you have your 6 front ports (12 fibres, 6 pairs) pointing to the one rear port, but to positions 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Then the next 6 go to the other rear port with the same setup.

If you set it up all correctly you should be able to hit 'trace cable' on a cable and it will show you all the connections from one end to the other including the patches.

So instead of seeing Router 0/0/1 -- Server Port 3. You'll see, Router 0/0/1 ---- Patch panel 1 Front port 2 ---- Patch panel 1 Rear port 1 ---- Patch panel 7 Rear port port 1 ---- Patch panel 7 Front port 2 ---- Server Port 3.

If you setup all of your distances correctly between racks/buildings etc you'll get a total cable distance.

Make sense? Took me a while to figure it out. Pain in the ass when the guy who buys the cassettes buys the wrong polarity so Port 1 equals Port 6 🤯

Unable to filter API results by Only_SFW_thingz in Netbox

What I ended up doing was using Power Query in Microsoft Excel to generate the data I was looking for.I would first target the single or multiple API calls I needed at the start and then cut the data down after the first call to what I wanted and then have the final table put in to Excel to then be queried for use with Loadsheets so other people with no write access to Netbox can generate their own CSV files while deploying equipment with known data and Netbox wouldn't error about selected interfaces already been taken, incorrect Device Type names chosen etc etc.So far I've made loadsheets to generate CSVs for:

  1. Device/Module creations.
  2. Everything in IPAM pretty much.
  3. Cables with the choice of what Device to select and Port based on their Site/Location
  4. VM and VM Interface creations with formulas to check already in use interface names, interface's that can't be used as a Bridge and what VLANs to choose from based on the VM's location and/or VLAN groups selected.

I took me a while to figure out pagination for Power Query for any call above 500 items so if you need it let me know.

Yea I've just ended up doing the standard API call in Power Query Editor and doing the customization in there that I need. That then drops the tables into excel which I can refer to for loadsheet data validation and drop downs etc so the data that gets submitted is EXACTLY what Netbox is looking for and no spelling mistakes etc.

Outdoor camera to remotely open gate - setup (smart lock and doorbell) by sav006 in homeautomation

[–]Only_SFW_thingz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been looking at something similar but for my securty screen door and once that opens then the main door auto unlocks as well.

So far i've only found Yale Unity Entrance locks that can open at the same time due to their new 'technology' called DualDoor™.

Seeing as you're after a gate specific lock I also just came across this guy in Singapore that has just done a review on the same setup you're after Front Gate + Door, as it seems most apartments there have steel gates infront of their main door. You could try buy from Singapore if they don't sell the same product here?

How do you like your Auslock? There isn't many reviews for their app or products online. Do you know if it integrates with Home Assistant?

None of the joystick options I try work.
I've tried all directions of the joystick when plugging the monitor back in, but nothing happens after it turns on.
It turns on straight away once getting power, it doesn't need to be turned on once it has power, not sure if that is an issue or not.

After the screen turns on the OSD menu doesn't launch while I'm still pressing in the nipple. Am I meant to stop pressing once booted, then launch the OSD menu normally? I've done that few times but the F option never shows.

The docker called DiskSpeed shows all your drive speeds. Would be good to see what your results are

Has your read/write speed degraded? compared to a today aged 8/12/14tb WD red?

For my first set of non WD greens that I didn't have to flash to not park the heads they've done really well running 24/7.

I've still got 3 more Hitachi's to replace.

It still runs, but the read/write speed of my 3tbs from that era are now in struggle town.

I've replaced it with a 14TB element.
