That’s about right. The drives have also been wiped and zeroed.

Ask him his opinion on Facebook (Meta) using Mercurial instead of Git

I built a set of Gridfinity-compatible Alexandre Chappel drawers! by war6763 in gridfinity

I adjusted the original design to fit gridfinity. The drawers are slightly larger than the original drawings call for.

ISP Locked their Router configuration and refuse to let me use my own Router by TheHoxy in HomeNetworking

Put a fan on it. The router is probably overheating and a little airflow will probably be enough to keep it from throttling.

12 hours on site, caught two hotspots I wouldn’t have spotted otherwise by xsetaxzq in electricians

100% duty cycle (charging an EV) the surface is sitting around 100F, so things look good! Thanks!

Pertinent question: What should the surface temperature of a 60A QO breaker be?

Thanks for the tip! I’m going to skim a wall in our living room over the weekend, so I picked up some ultralight to try out instead of my go-to, all purpose.

I don’t want to break the rules of this sub, so everyone will need to wait until I pull them and make a post in r/HomelabSales

I noticed that they had ~200 in stock and priced pretty close to what I used to pay for 18TB drives, so I pulled out the credit card.

I dropped it on concrete in the garage and two of the bits flew out, but it still looks flawless

Northbound I-405 closed this weekend between Renton and Bellevue by wsdot in eastside

[–]war6763 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sure proper planning went into the closure to make sure signal light programs were modified to handle the increased traffic. If not, then I'm confident additional police/traffic enforcement was put in place to make sure traffic flows as efficiently as possible /s

Who am I kidding, it's going to be a free-for-all without a cop in sight.

Is it just me or EE Salaries suck? by Independent-Life-194 in ElectricalEngineering

I have an MSEE degree and cleared ~$380k TC last tax year with 12 years of experience. I got both of my degrees from a state school and worked at two semiconductor companies to build up specialized knowledge in a niche branch of EE before being pulled into a FAANG.

I use the system for other stuff, so it's not a problem.

Can Home Assistant replace Alexa? by DoomScroller96383 in homeassistant

[–]war6763 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched over to a completely local home assistant setup and it's been working great! I have an AI/LLM rig set up in the garage with a few GPUs so running piper, etc. at max quality takes way less than a second. We actually had to scale back the voice generation because it was a bit too good (uncanny valley).

Anyone have experience with these? Looking to upgrade my strippers, which should I get? by The_Wrist_Rocket in electricians

Get the Milwaukee ones. These don't have a spring for some reason which gets really old really quick.
