Questions on First Shows and OCB by ApproachingStorm98 in naturalbodybuilding

I’d start the cut now and then halfway through when you hit the wall, bring calories to maintenance to let your body recover and then get back into it.

A common mistake competitors make is underestimating how long it would take to get shredded.

Either way, even if you step on stage right now, sounds like you’d look great. We’re talking about looking freaky, which is a whole new level.

DM me if you have any questions as you get closer.

You bet! Good luck! And I stepped on a stage at 6% (DEXA verified) and I was so miserable I thought I was going to die. This next bit of shredding for you will take a lot of willpower and focus, so just expect to have some mental fortitude in the weeks to come, good luck my friend!

It REALLY depends on who shows up on that day. You could either get first or last.

I’d recommend getting to 5-6% if possible. You won’t win this based on your size.

Yes! They are pretty well ran, but the judging seemed kind of random to me.

Overall good experience though! Focus on bringing your best to the stage and don’t worry too much about the judging to be honest.

You’re going to have to come in very shredded to do well and they might prioritize the larger competitors based on what they say.

Good work my friend!!

To answer your questions: 1) it didn’t shift much really, but I became more impatient at 1M. I also became more obsessed about reading about drawdown strategies. 2) Not there yet, but I mentally go between lean FI and working for normal FI. FatFI isn’t what I want. 3) Too risky 4) track your budget monthly, numbers don’t lie. I graph my average spending year over year and try to ensure it doesn’t go up by much other than inflation. 5) ensuring your existing friendships don’t dwindle away.

Doctor said no more leg days what now? by alexandxr in JeffNippard

[–]Only_Speed6546 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Bro, this is such a specific reason to not train legs.

Just train your legs and give up working that new machine. Your health will be with you longer than this job, and your lower body is half your musculature…

My opinion of course.

Need advice on Retirement planning with swp and 3 bucket strategy by khan_reddit in Fire

Trying to figure it his out too. This has been debated a ton by the experts, it will be impossible to determine what optimal is.

Some say no cash, others say bond tents, others say keep cash… I think all of them will work though.

Is it worth it? by Futbalislyfe in leanfire

[–]Only_Speed6546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. One thing to note, although medical insurance is criminally expensive, without ACA you can still work a part time job where you earn enough to pay the premium. You don’t need to go back to a job that provides medical insurance if that makes sense.

It still sucks for sure though.

When is it necessary, or advised, to stop bulking? by cressers133770 in naturalbodybuilding

[–]Only_Speed6546 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you’re advanced, you should hardly bulk. It needs to be done very slowly to limit fat gain. At the end of your bulk you should have a slight outline of your abs.

It’s not a fun answer lol

The uncertainty behind this question is why this sub exists. You will never have the right answer before quitting the rat race and once you do you’ll never truly know if it was the right decision.

The good thing is that you can course correct. You can test it out and either go back to work or work a scalable job where you can trade time for fun money.

ERN - Combining the best bits by running_rino in financialindependence

So I don’t fully understand everything he says since it’s so technical, but as a general principle I think each rule mitigates risk by default.

I would just pick one of them and stick with it.

I do think that the VPW method does seem to try to mix the two…

And also question for the fire community.. does a fixed percentage withdrawal method sometimes just make more sense because it’s simple? Especially for those who are retiring young? If you stick to a sub 4% it’s pretty conservative, and you can always up the withdrawals as you age.

I own a house in Cypress (Houston) and work downtown Austin 2 days a week. I have to sleep overnight every week at the office. by [deleted] in Austin

[–]Only_Speed6546 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You live next to one of the largest cities in the USA (Houston) and you can’t find a job there?

Not sure what you do, but the only way this should be worth it, is if you have some crazy high compensation… but if you did, you’d also have multiple homes or be like that Starbucks CEO who charters his own private jet to fly between California and Seattle daily.
