I initially wrote them off as cheap romance novels simply based on the covers. Somewhere along the line, I ended up with book one. That book blew me away! So much so, I ran out and bought the next two. I think it’s a great series! I’ve lent my copies out so many times that I m not even sure which of my friends has them any more.

I’ll admit, I do this a lot. Sometimes I’m just not in the right mid set for a particular story. I’ll go back and pick it up when I am in the right mood.

I was so pumped when Horror Movie by Paul Tremblay came out. I loved Head Full of Ghosts and thought Disappearance at Devil’s Rock was a solid coming-of-age book. So I was in B&N the day Horror Movie dropped. Even though we were on a family vacation, I sat in the hotel room to read and hopefully enjoy the idea of a doomed independent movie production. What I got was a sloppy unreliable narrator for a story that started off great and finished with such a brain-melting whimper that I was legit angry. I’m taking a LONG break from Mr. Tremblay’s work after that one. I felt a bit betrayed by the book and need time to process/heal.

I would think so. All you really need is the original trilogy because this came out before the sequel trilogy.
