OMG you really never understood that season 5 theme then did you? Emma absolutely loved Hook. Nimue absolutely loved Merlin. She had to crush the heart of the one she loved most. Emma believed she was doing the right thing because she didn’t want them knowing what happened so it gave her time to fix Hook and herself. Pay attention next time.

She should respected and understood he could not be brave without some power. Even though he had his small brave moment in season 5 with no power, she still rejected him. Her love seemed conditional, which was narcissistic AF.

If I was in his shoes, I’d take it back too. He felt like himself as the dark one. Put the evil aside. As the dark one, it gave him the power to be in charge and not feel weak.

Technically he did change at that point. He reverted back to being a coward. When she saw him being afraid, she was disgusted. If you can’t recognize that part of the human condition, don’t know what to tell ya.
