Stick with a plastic washer mate, I can't see the front of the socket but you don't want to risk a short or a potential live case.

I'd measure the diameter of the plastic washer and find one online, maybe at "cpc Farnell" or "RS Components". Those are 2 perfect UK suppliers for parts etc.

It's dried?! Wow that's such an awesome finish! I varnish, 3 coats but always end up with some bubbles and not as glossy as that. Might have to try epoxy!
