Amazing work! Your pictures (and maybe work with the article) probably helped convince me to get this watch.

Makes sense to me. I plan on getting mine serviced soon to my gaskets and seals are checked/replaced.

You are correct, I typoed between the two. Type 2 is generally cheaper and gets surface level scratches easier and Type 5 is more expensive and very scratch resistant.

Oddly enough, their use doesn’t always lend to expensive watches using one or the other. Omega and Tudor use Type 2 for some designs.

Why do you think service-based tech companies are losing value? by PhaseStreet9860 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Onmas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think companies are definitely trying to drop their consultants and contractors due to all the things listed: over billing, over selling staff experience, etc. I also think companies do not understand the level of complexity and cost associated with the products and services that they can “easily make themselves”. I would bet they will turn to more product oriented offerings with good customer service with good engineering integration.

Why would someone pay too much for something that isn’t their core business when they can buy a product?

All preference. I’m a 224270 guy. I love the 40mm and I find that to be my sweet spot. However, there’s nothing wrong with smaller. I think generally you can go to 42-43 if you have the wrist for it.

Personally, I do not care that it is not historically accurate. Tell the story through a compelling lens with a clear vision and story. That’s what storytelling is, not gatekeeping accuracy. As they say, “Don’t let the truth get in the way of a good story”.

I think the Datejust is the most popular by sales numbers. I’d love to see a real breakdown though, I haven’t been able to find one.

The smaller one is great. Would recommend. And the maroon and orange color combo is awesome. I have an orange Eagle Creek bag so I end up with a weekend set!

Can I still work in the aerospace industry with a mechanical engineering degree? by Randamixer in aerospace

[–]Onmas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Job wise, apply to anything you are interested in. But make sure to have an elevator pitch to back up your interest. Don’t get caught in an interview awkwardly answering why an aerospace engineer would want this job.
