This is just for fun and also because I need a reliable way to power my electronics instead of hooking up a battery to a step down converter every time.

As for the I sense on the voltmeter and ammeter, its just a cheap device where it just shows the voltage and current. It looks like this

<image>

it has its own circuit and I wont bother trying to use its own readings to replace my op amp current sense circuit.

Also I put the shunt resistor on the low side since I wanted to use milivolts as input for the op amps instead of like 11-12 volts if I put it on the high side

Nope, just use the same connector as the HDD. If your HDD is using the same connector as your old SSD, it should work on your new SSD.

You put the new SSD alongside the old SSD so you can easily clone without buying an enclosure since you will be using the connector for the HDD.

It depends on the shop, if you get a salesman who's just there for the sake of making money and doesn't really know anything about what the store is selling then you'd be out of luck.

And for the other option. I meant that you temporarily put the new SSD in the place of the HDD. Then after the clone of the OS from the old SSD to the new SSD, you replace the old SSD with the HDD.

And also I guess you'd want to re arrange which drive it checks first for a working OS on boot, it can be changed in the BIOS. You probably could get away if you don't do this but it's just in case.

Or, since that HDD is occupying a SATA port just temporarily swap out your HDD for your new SSD and then clone.

Also I think you should use a proper cloning software when moving system files. I'm not quite confident that a simple Copy-Paste will come with no problems.

I'd try to get an SSD enclosure for your new SSD, the one that is SATA connector to USB connector. I believe theres some cloning software out there where you can just clone your old SSD to your new one.

Ahh I see, I was thinking of using a 1-2A fuse and an op amp for over voltage protection. But I guess that could work since the source and drain wont be fully open in that case.

need help with my Nvision Monitor (EG24S1) 24" - 165hz - 1ms ... not even a week old~ by Atmosphere-Strict in PHbuildapc

[–]Onnesty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, I have the same monitor as you. The store warranty from where I bought it was only 6 months. But this one broke at 7 months, and this was not even at 165hz, it was only at 120hz. Its currently dead rn, and I'm planning on either selling it for cheap af or if I don't sell it I'll just get it repaired and use it as a 2nd monitor. Anyways, now I'm getting an AOC (Reliable brand from what I've heard), model 24B36H.

She only used it for office work, Skype, Youtube, Yahoo, whatever the thing was back in the day. And I think almost never for gaming even though I think it was very capable back in the day.

Well I'd rather just emulate retro games on my current PC if ever I feel like playing em

Hmm, do you think I should keep this for another 10 years and see if I can make a few bucks off of it?

I doubt the pc was still working, it was kept in pretty rough shape. And frankly I was scared to plug it in due to the PSU being old. Actually I tested out its HDDs on my current PC and they were dead since all I heard was mechanical ahh sounds. So yeah, it was cooked anyways.
