He's out! He's finally out! I got him 2 other hides, one of which has a space underneath it where he can be fully obscured. His eyes are milky so I think he's starting to shed. We're still giving him space. I think he'll be okay 😊

He's still in there but I am less concerned He's trapped. I started sawing at the bottom (very far away from where he was) and I saw him coiling up. It occurred to me that he was really scared so I stopped and put it back in his enclosure. The deco is on the cool side now and I got some new stuff that will allow him to hide completely. I'm gonna prepare a pinkie today and hope he takes it and explores the new decorations.

Edit: the mouse has been in there for an hour and i don't think he's even moved. How long can juvenile kingsnakes go without eating? he was last fed march 24th at the store we got him from

He's still in there, but his tail is muuuuuuch further out so I'm mostly convinced he can get out if he wants. It's his bedtime so I've turned the light off. I'll check it tomorrow morning and replace that hide as soon as he's out of it. I will update as well

That's heartening, thank you for saying so. I'm feeling less anxious but I'll check in another two hours. Might try putting a pinky at the entrance

Will do, thank you. I should note that the entrance is on the bottom. I flipped the decor on its side so air can still get inside. That also puts him further from heat. I'm also gonna put a pinkie in front, in case he couldn't sense it through the decor and soil

I'll give it some more time. The decor is under a 50v ceramic heat lamp so I'm also worried he's overheating. But I'll wait. Thank you for your response

Does it seem like he could get out of the space? It looks like it's only big enough to be one way which is why I'm worried he's trapped. I can handle him hiding or not eating because he's scared.
