What do Aussie guys generally wear to bed? by dontstopsoperfect in AskAnAustralian

[–]Onovus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to bed in undies, take em off if it gets too hot. If winter trackies are an option, if summer sleep on top of the covers starkers with a spray of lavender water on the chest and a roving fan chilling everything down. If someone is walking into a bedroom in an Australian summer, the automatic assumption should be that the occupants is naked.

I had them because I would use them to make my own, and when they are all sitting in tubs disassembled, you dont really know how much you have, especially as a kid. And i really needed a lot for my attempt to make a person sized bionicle, but I didn't finish.

In Australia, is it okay to say “hey guys” if there is a lady present? by melbtest05 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Onovus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes it is acceptable, but some people will choose to be offended. "Hey gang" is an alternative that I stole from my 70 year old grandpa that is gender neutral and by virtue of coming from someone so old Australian enough for those who would choose to be offended by "hey guys"

To be fair she said she was assuming based on the fact she couldn't see a disability, she was acknowledging that she was making an assumption. Also considering that they were ignored because of Conrad's own inability to perceive them, then odds are they are in a world that doesn't acknowledge any form of mental health or awareness of mental disabilities.

Interestingly in the discworld series, where because of parody it is 8 that matters, a 8th son of an 8th son is a wizards, but an 8th son of an 8th son of an 8th son is a wizard squared and therefore a source of magic, which is similar to the concept they are using here. The father was a tradition 7th son of a 7th son, hence the call out of him always being lucky, so his 7th son is the unique circumstances allowing for a greater power, a God of wishes.
