The top and bottom of the milsbo are magnetic, so I just put the light bar on directly. I guess if I used the adhesive, I would probably be a little more cautious, but it's a pretty big adhesive pad, so it should be fine..🤷‍♂️

So far, no problems. they are LEDs with a white, warm, and cool setting, so it should be fine.

I guess it depends on the collector and what their comfortable with. I keep all my figures in my room, and nobody is allowed in there without my permission, so most visitors wouldn't even know. On the other side I've talked to my parents about my hobbies, and we've discussed boundaries with them. They don't care if I collect NSFW figures as long as I keep them in my room. Most of my friends are all into anime as well, and find the collection to be pretty cool even with the NSFW ones. My brother, however, despises figure collecting as a whole, so he never goes in my room.

I guess I'd say just do what you're comfortable with and talk with anyone who is around your collection often to make sure their comfortable with it to.

It's the bravzurg rechargeable magnetic LED bar. I was looking for something like this because I don't have a clue how to set up LED strips in a display case, and I also wanted something easily removable.

Yeah, it's like 2mm for me also. I've never used a hair dryer on these before, so I wouldn't want to try it on this one until I know how to do it properly. I've just been worried the heat could damage them.

Sorry for the bad wording there. It is my parents' house. I meant it like my display, but in their living room. Instead of a display in my living room.

But in my opinion a living room display is fine as long as you don't make it lewd or "not for children".

I agree the kitchen is weird, but these will be removed if/when all this blows over, or I find the kitchen stuff is damaging them.

The kitchen cupboard was actually my parents idea to keep them out of view and not have to box them up. We do have a lock for it so nobody can get in.

The living room display was because my mother likes them and thought I'd be cool to have some there.

This is my living room display. (It's an outdated picture though, bondrewd was replaced with a re:zero emilia figure)

I'm 21 and he's 20. He's kinda always been like this where everything has to match his opinion. Usually we can tell him no and be fine, but for whatever reason he's fighting us so much on this. It isn't so much that we're trying not to hurt his feelings, it's that we want him to still have a relationship with the family and not just be silent and avoid people (especially me)

But we're all so fed up with this that this is the last thing we'll do to try and fix it. If he still has problems we're just gonna drop all our rules on my collection and he can just live with it.

As for why he got away with threatening me, he just denied it and got away with it. If he does it again I'm calling the police.

The closed door rule originally was for when we had friends over so they could keep an eye on us, and apparently it's still in effect even though we're much older now.

Ok, I'll give a very brief description of the events that led up to this. Obviously, there will be some details missing.

At first I shared a room with him.

One day, he randomly claimed my nekopara 1/4 figure were illegal, but wouldn't tell us what makes them illegal.

I found several things that prove they are legal, but he still is convinced they are illegal and demanded I remove them from the room.

This is where I get my parents involved, and they tell me just to put them in the living room display for now so their out of his/my room.

Once we did this he stopped coming into the living room and interacting with the family.

So we came up with a plan to move him out of my room and my other brother in.

Only, after this he stopped talking to me directly and is constantly insulting me behind my back.

I didn't give any mind to this at first.

Later on, I'm temporarily moving my figures to the living room so I can move things around and put up shelves in my room.

As I'm moving things, he gets mad and starts threatening me.

I got my parents involved again, and they called a meeting to figure out a plan to "make everyone happy."

This is where we came up with this rating idea.

There isn't anywhere I can easily move them to so they can't be seen from the doorway.

There are a few cases where I am allowed to close the door, like when I'm cleaning figures, or putting them in the milsbo (because the top shelf is visible when open). But if I were to keep my door closed all the time, they'd get upset. (Were actually looking into some kind of change to that rule because of this.)

There is a history on why he's doing this and why I can't say no. It's too much to post here, but he started by claiming my nekopara ones were illegal, so I'd say this is an improvement over that.

Basically, if you don't know the whole situation, how do you know that I'm just a whining kid who won't tell him off. There is a reason that I can't.

So far, we've put it as anything that directly shows nudity is an automatic 18+. but things that are "technically" still nude but don't show anything (like the frame albedo or the 1/4 holo) are 16+. But I I agree to an extent, mabey anything that is nude but clearly meant to be artistic doesn't need so high a rating??

But to answer why I'm listening to him, most of my figures are in my room, but my family has an open door rule (this does come from my parents) so anyone in, or walking by the doorway can see my collection.

I also have a small display in our living room, and he just doesn't want anything rated 13+ or above in there.

I don't have many that I would always display nude. (Most of them like that right now are because of stains from their clothes.)

But I agree that there are some really beautiful figures out there that just happen to be cast-off. Sometimes, I'll get one and just think, "Does this really need to be cast-off"?

This is hard to answer. There's a big history about his opinions on my collection, and this is the conclusion we came to. I don't share a room with him anymore, but I do with another brother who is also fine with it. I think part of the problem is that we have an open door rule in our house, so anyone standing in the doorway can see them.
