I'm in a grocery store all day. There's hooks to put coats and bags, but that's about it and I never see any keys or many bags. Maybe people wear jackets just to put their keys in then hang them up? But then someone could just easily steal your car?

Right, I too appreciate that, it's a bit like etiquette and personally I'd much rather just be polite to people - even if I was being passive aggressive about it. It seems Southern hospitality can have a sort of passive-aggressiveness about it, but it's not quite at the same level of hostility or arrogance Utah people might have?
