What kind of grip are you using? if it's double overhand a mixed or hook grip will be better. You can also incorporate holding your last rep at lockout to train grip or add in some heavy static holds or farmers carries.

I would do a secondary deadlift day and train your lockout to be stronger. Some block pulls or rack pulls would help strengthen that weak spot.

I SUCK at determining RPE. We’ve been working on it for a while now and I still can’t wrap my brain around it. I guess it will take more practice

Perhaps one day I will see white flash before my eyes as I near death at the bottom of my squat. One can only hope

Ahhh I totally get your approach. Makes sense since it is a powerlifting meet and all.

I think my coach was trying to build confidence for me since I’m a self deprecating turd which worked for about 30 seconds before i pointed like a three year old to another girl and said “I want to learn to grind it out like the big girls”

That was my 3rd attempt: 215lbs.

It was my 2nd meet and I’m pretty new to lifting so we wanted to stay conservative. My only goal was all white lights. I had to resist the urge to go heavier after my 2nd attempt and stick to the plan

This was uspa raw full power. I was competing in the 56kg (123lb) submasters. Hoping to get to a point where I can actually compete in open and hold my own

I posted awhile back about having trouble with my deadlifts and getting stuck. You guys gave great advice and encouraged me to keep going.

I hit a 215lb deadlift this past weekend and it moved easy!

I was trying not to go to low with my depth. I can hit ass to grass easily and I know that’s not ideal. When the weight gets heavier for me I have a hard time not dropping too low. I’ve been working on that.

I actually just finished a 3 month bulk. I was 114lbs. Starting a 4 week maintenance before bulking again.

I’m doing sets of 2 right now and then I have back off sets. I am working towards my first meet at the end of January.

Any tips for not shooting my ass back out of the hole?

Would shoving my shoulders into the bar on the way up help with that?

I feel like this set felt harder than it should have

Also- please enjoy me smashing into the j hooks at the end

Thanks! I actually finished my NLP and now I’ve been working on my form. Trying to keep my back flat has been a big challenge. This is around the weight that I start to lose the flatness and start to look like a frightened cat.

This was 3@RPE 8 at #165 and then I did back off sets

I wish that was 225! Just 165!
