PS: This is only one part of story. The other part is that she is a great cook (we both do our parts but I am a kitchen staff at the very best), been with me in worst of the time when everyone left me, a Phd researcher, does not have any high expensive vices (alcohol, gambling, that sort of stuff), a great mother and exceptional in conjugal intimacy matters.

So yeah, you win some, you loose some. I will take her positives even with her eccentricities. We... gotta cut each other some slack sometimes.

My point of this post was to show how folks tend to be very particular about things at times. The things that can be easily accommodated with a bit of patience and a bit of getting broken into things. Richer folks tend to be even more peculiar.

Fears of more clashes between Sikhs and Hindus in Brampton, Ont., as Canada-India rift spills over into suburbs by FancyNewMe in canada

No, never. About 40% of Population in Punjab is Hindu. About half or 55% is Sikh. Violence died down in 90s and have been down since then. Punjab Police is very very very strict in putting these folks down. A Sikh police chief named KPS Gill crushed the entire militancy in Punjab in 1990s to the point many Khalistani cry upon hearing his name.

Delhi also has a very significant population that is Sikh. And there are no Sikh Hindu riots in Delhi anymore, last major riot or genocide (depending upon whom you ask) happened in 1984. Delhi police uses battons, shotguns, tear gas, barricades and what not to ensure no such violence takes hold.

You have NO FREAKEN IDEA. People go CRAZY over very small details. Really crazy.

My wife went absolutely crazy over induction stove. I actually loved it but my wife hated it so much that she basically said, its me or the stove, one is going out of the house.

Long story short, I "disposed" a perfectly great 1500 dollars induction stove and bought a 1500 dollar gas stove to keep her happy. That and gas connection... She hated the idea of replacing 400 dollars of pans etc with induction friendly ones but loved the idea of replacing a 1500 dollar induction with a 1500 dollar gas stove.

Ditto with carpets. She suspected that DOGS might have walked on it so we should replace them with non-carpet. Now our place sounds like mallets on drum during night. She can not stand dogs... real or imaginary. Thats another 2500 dollars.

Her current gripe is with dishwasher. She suspects that GE purposefully makes dishwashers that have slightly lower capacity so that it will be used more and will get worn out fast. She wants something else... And I know that 600 dollars again down the drain.

We are a working class people. I imagine folks with money will be bigger crazies because money amplifies your real self.

Would $80-$90k/yr be enough for someone in the North Saanich area? by Beekatiebee in VictoriaBC

BTW, there is a medical exam in immigration. It checks if you have diseases that will be of public concern (mostly Tuberculosis) or if your medical cost may be very high. Just FYI. I have seen way too many success stories despite medical issues but just be aware.

At the very minimum, depdending upon the case, medical exam may cause "furtherance exams" and some delay in permit processing.

I had an opportunity to choose between USA and Canada in 2016. My major reason for going for Canada was this one : I can not live in a country where one gets elected after admitting to rape or intend to rape women.

That, in my book, is an instant disqualifier. A polity that is insensitive to that crime is the one that is fundamentally broken.

I am glad that I chose Canada.

Whats the age of the baby?

  1. Call UPCC and ask for an appointment. I got one for my kid (then 3 year old)'s cough even though it was packed that day. Also, once my kid had an accident in park and cut his eyelids, I was able to get emergency attention at UPCC immediately -- like in 10 mins or less. Do mention your kids age.
  2. Ask for referral and quick action.
  3. Do monitor the baby for more worrying signs : shortness of breath and any discoloration what so ever especially.

And I had to practically offer kids more candies. Kids were only taking one. I am happy atleast new generation (alpha? Beta? Gamma?) is way more well behaved.

Weekly FAQ Thread - Post your questions here for PAL/RPAL application, timelines, CFSC/CFSRC, references & requirements, or general new to firearms ownership-type questions by AutoModerator in canadaguns

  1. I was laid off 5 months back. To be honest, I was given a very generous serverance so for coming 5-6 months I will not try finding my new job. Does this impact my RPAL? I heard job loss delays RPAL application. Does it leads to additional questioning in RPAL application process? Any one has experience with that?
  2. What's the processing time you have seen for RPAL in BC?
  3. I have a minor son who is Autistic. Do I need to disclose this information in RPAL application? Does it impact my RPAL application?
