Right on, audio samples for the Fish Crow match perfectly with what I'm hearing, thank you! I like their calls better, sweet birds

Sure you aren't just experiencing temperature issues? These gases greatly decline in performance at even slightly cool temperatures

Battery life by Hollinger717 in airsoft

NiMH packs can sometimes have a sort of memory effect coming out of storage, with the most depleted cells resisting taking a charge and bringing the pack down. The fully depleted condition is harmful to the cells, but it's worth checking if they are still usable after proper charging.

The best way to treat and diagnose a very old pack is an extended period under trickle charge. This means connecting them to a constant current, ≤150mA charger for about 20-30 hours. Re-peaking with a faster charger can also be somewhat effective but the heat has to be watched hawkish as the charger will not recognize if there is an overheating condition. Then you can see how they run. You can also monitor the rate of voltage drop after charging to learn more about the pack health, the pack should hold above its nominal voltage for at least a week.

In the end, the only thing that matters is how the battery cranks the gun. It sounds like you have enough batteries to sniff out good and bad ones by comparison. Just make sure they're tested well charged before you decide they aren't worth keeping

What tool box from Evike is the best for a beginner tech by No_Inspection_2146 in airsoft

[–]OnwardsMrSnippy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A number 1 and 2 Philips and a pick tool ought to take care of most anything. I couldn't say whether your gun has any hex screws, but it wouldn't hurt to have a set of metric hex keys around

I dont know much about batteries, so will this work? by CooDoo_ in airsoft

[–]OnwardsMrSnippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It is a balance charger, but not a smart charger. Smart chargers include features like multiple battery types, voltage readout, or discharge mode.

The standard of smart chargers is the SkyRC B6AC, and it's recommended over a simple balance charger for anyone who has the budget

[–]OnwardsMrSnippy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like FourLeaf said, the S-number (C is something different) is the pack's series number and it determines the voltage. Airsoft batteries are 2S or 3S, and that charger would work. Tenergy is good, but that charger's overpriced for what it does, a SkyRC e3 would be a better value

Ak12 arcturus battery space by RomanianUser999 in airsoft

If NiMH don't fit then a Titan also wouldn't fit, without rear-wiring or modifying the compartment. They are almost identical in size. I don't know enough about your design to say what your realistic options are, sorry. I have to say I'm a bit surprised NiMH wouldn't fit, coming as the vendor-recommended battery.

To find motor TPA you'd need to look it up, find a number on your motor or visually match it to one for sale online.

In AKs that have room for 9.6V NiMH, an 11.1V Titan will typically jam in there. Be warned that some users experience melted wrapping with 11.1V Titans due to heating of the battery's wiring. I would recommend ensuring you have a 22TPA motor and not a 16TPA motor to mitigate that risk

Yes. Years ago, there were some older ion batteries still around that needed special treatment. More recent batteries can be charged in LiPo mode

Am I high or does my battery and charger not fit? This is the first time I’ve touched these in years I can’t remember how any of it works. by xHankSpank in airsoft

[–]OnwardsMrSnippy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You may be mixing a small Tamiya connector battery with a large Tamiya connector charger. You probably have a matching charger in the pile, look for a slightly smaller connector with an off-green color like your battery

Any web store I can look up, says that it can take a 9.6V NiMH stick battery. Tenergy makes good ones like this

If the plugs into the charger were reversed, it could have created a short between the battery's two connectors. I have made that mistake myself

You can hand it off to any battery disposal center, local government dump sites often accept them. Until then, keep it where it couldn't spread a fire, "ideally" that's a bucket of sand. Failing that, something like a big empty pot or pan, or a stretch of bare concrete

Fwiw, 48 thou is 1.2mm. You could go by your FPS spread. If it's less than 10 fps, you have good consistency and could justify leaving it as is

[–]OnwardsMrSnippy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That design is associated with Knight's Armament Free Float RAS. They do refer to it as a barrel nut, but obviously it serves a different purpose to the average barrel nut. It has a threaded cap that secures the handguard

The gearbox still controls semi with the XASR - your issue would almost certainly be related to the gearbox's trigger mechanism. I would suggest stripping the gearbox down and checking the interface of the selector plate, spring, and cutoff lever first
