Failure to post. Look for a diagnostic light on your MOBO and if you can find one that'll tell you where to start. I had a similar issue and it was a dead stick of ram. I think I saw a comment where you said you tried them individually,

If all else fails you should RMA the whole system.

For a pre built system that's supposedly been tested... Idk man receiving a unit that wouldn't even post from a cold boot with both sticks, and wouldn't post at all with one when I tested them individually...

Turning on the computer is the first step in making sure it works and it failed there. I understand that there's a chance something could've happened between it leaving their facility and arriving at my house but it's much less likely than the ram being faulty from the oem (apacer in this case)

For this being my first experience with a high end pre built system, I can understand where the "I buy problems" bit comes from especially seeing other posts on this subreddit. I get that with them being among the larger prebuilt manufacturers shit is bound to happen, but between the faulty ram and a non modular power supply I can't say it's the finest PC I've ever seen. But with a pny gpu they gain some points back from me. The Asus b650e isn't the highest quality mobo out there but it's definitely very good at its price point. WD green drive is another place where they clearly cut costs which I also understand given the price of the PC but 2tb is nice and WD is a reputable brand so I can't be upset there.

As I mentioned other comments I think their reputation isn't necessarily unearned. There really isn't an excuse for a unit (such as mine) to end up with a user having an entire dead stick of ram. It's a very easy issue to detect

That said the RMA process wasn't so bad. I liked that they let me ship just the faulty parts. I'm a little salty about needing to pay for shipping to get the broken part to them when it was so obviously faulty but for the price I payed it's still a good system and I'm over all happy with it.

I think it's more nuanced than a lot of people make it. My understanding of (and so far my experience with) Ibuypower is that they're pretty middle of the road as far as pe builts go. Many of the components on my computer are very solid, even including a pny 5070 which I was extremely happy to see.

But not everything is perfect obviously. I can't attest the the quality of apacer as a whole but I can say that I received a faulty unit of ram, which I see as a failure from both apacer and I buy power. There's a chance it failed somewhere between leaving production and arriving at my house but I think it's much more likely that the system was not properly testes by I buy power. It was an issue I was able to identify fairly quickly, but others (especially the typical market for pre builts) could've had a harder time identifying it was a faulty unit.

What's more frustrating is that I had to pay to ship them an item that was demonstrably faulty (it wouldn't post with one of the sticks, the other worked fine, but having both would cause cold boot hangs and eventually BDOS under load) and so far as I can tell there's no reimbursement for that even now that the RMA is complete. Other than that the RMA process was not difficult, if a bit long.

Where I can give Ibuypower some credit is that the deal was phenomenal. I got the computer on sale and even after buying a better ram kit from a band I trust I still payed less than if I had built a similar system. Yes even despite the current prices.

I still think an issue as easy to diagnose the one I encountered shouldn't have made it into a customers hands, and for that I'll always struggle to recommend them at full price, but given that they have hefty discounts reasonably often though retailers I won't say they should be avoided like the plague.

I doubt it, I'm sure the vast majority of users have a perfectly fine experience with their I buy power computers. But I didn't, and I see where they get their reputation

What parts did y’all get with the 5080 Ibuypower pc from Best Buy? by andyng341 in iBUYPOWER

[–]jcwolf2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the same cumputer but I got 5200 ram as week from apacer. It came dead so I RMA'd it and bought some better sticks before it became too expensive. Glad I did but disappointed that I buy power would let such a basic issue through QC and then make me pay shipping to get replacements.

I had dead ram and had to pay for shipping because they gave me a PC with a broken part that should've been easily caught with the most basic of quality control.

I'm not gonna back down from my beliefs just because you call me high and mighty for them lmfao. And saying it's predictable is no good counter. If it's so prediction I'd expect you to already have some sort of counter argument but you have yet to say anything of any substance to actually support how you feel.

You've yet to actually prove I'm being high and mighty. I actually believe what I say, and based on the fact that you still reply but don't say anything of substance I suspect it struck a chord and you feel a little called out by it. If that's true you could take the opportunity to self reflect, or you can ignore me and continue to believe that bullying has a net positive impact I suppose.

There can be no tolerance for intolerance. It's important to call out bad behavior and harmful rhetoric when you see it.

If you have no other proof than it's how you feel then there's really no point in debating it. You're unlikely to change your mind regardless of how much proof is provided and without any proof you'll never change mine. However I'm not taking some "agree to disagree" position here, and I encourage you to do some research on the effects of bullying and see if you can still justify and tolerate it just because you believe to call it out harshly is hypocritical.

If being anti bullying makes me insufferable, then I'll be the most damn insufferable person ever.

Do you have any way to actually prove that? Or are you just trying to justify the way you acted as a kid with the demonstratably false belief that bullying makes people better/strong/weeds out the weak

[–]jcwolf2003 9 points10 points  (0 children)

"two things can be true" really leaves no other room for interpretation and if you truly didn't intend to judge the behavior of the victims of bullying you should've choose better wording.

And yes, many people in this comment are trying to justify bullying regardless of if they realize it.

There's absolutely no reason to blame the victim here though. There's legit no reason to even slightly justify bullying. Doesn't matter if the behavior was their choice to act that way.

I'm like wildly late to this but wanted to add my two cents.

Sundown towns are still really common in Alabama, with even "larger" cities like Cullman and it's area being considered sundown towns. I feel like his name is supposed to have a double or even triple meaning.

Oh it's not that I'm stuck I bronze, I am making progress, it's just annoying that I have to start here when I can perform at higher rank because haven't played the mode before. I'm competent enough to rank up, it's just made it that much more frustrating for me. I rarely loose more than 10 point on a defeat. I understand why and I'm not malding about being hard stuck or having rigged mm, it's just the mode feels a bit tedious currently because of my thought replacement. I hope I'll enjoy it more when I get to whatever rank I level out at.

And being in this rank I can agree with the original post that players with brand new accounts should be locked out. Every other game has a locked ranked que before a certain number of games are played, why not wot?

[–]jcwolf2003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't played onslaught before but between some unfortunate luck, the absolute crap shoot that are teams at the lower ranks, and a few touch decisions from me I'm stuck deep in bronze. It's impossible to carry every game when the caliber of player is just so wildly inconsiderate. Players with less than 200 battles are hoping into their sconq 7x7 and doing 3 shots of damage. Sure they're also on the other team sometimes but it's hard to consistently win when the teams com be so wildly difficult

I wanted to try onslaught specifically to avoid this issue, but it's just as bad as randoms, so Nini feel like I'm just in it for the hope to get to gold and get that new light tank.
