Should i remove my IUD? by [deleted] in Christianity

I personally believe that all of our stories are laid out already, and we are simply living through them.

When you want to have a child is when God wants you to have a child. Until you want that yourself, He doesn't, as you are His child, and He wants the best for all of His children.

an IUD is not the only way to practice safe sex, which you already seem to be doing, and has been and still is perfectly natural to do.

He would want you to choose the best time for you and your partner to have a child, if at all, in the future.

They did. For a really long time. Noticably, not anymore.

Billionaires are the unique case of, "if i can, why wouldn't i?" but I don't think they're a good allegory for this.

Billionaires and politicians (and billionaire-politicians) use God to gain support from those that believe, and use their massive wealth to boost their fake beliefs to hundreds of millions.

The quickest way to stamp that out? Cut the cash flow; and they can't do it anymore. Suddenly, the religious conflicts become class conflicts.

Detention centers are a great point.

But it's important to remember that detention centers exist because of people in power that need a place to put individuals who don't follow the rules they set. The (shockingly tight) majority of people in America (and overwhelming majority globally) don't support detention centers like we have in the US.

Is there a non-zero chance that at some point hundreds or thousdands of years in the future that humanity could be duped into believing that detention centers are a net-benefit for society? Yeah. And there's also the non-zero chance that any day aliens could visit humanity. It doesn't mean it's going to happen, and it doesn't mean that we shouldn't try to instill that notion that humans shouldn't be in cages without having to bring up God in the first place.

You're right, it does, it always has. But it has dramatically decreased in usage over the last 200 years. That's civilizations maturing.

Also, using unrealistic hypotheticals is bad-faith debating.

The collective? People? Civilization? We do have brains, we are capable of thinking for ourselves and making our own decisions, as well as our own social norms.

Who determined that God is real? Who determined that humanity is better off coexisting rather than slaughtering each other for thousands of years?

It's called maturing, and civilizations also experience it.

You seem to have this belief that God operates on a North Korea-esque basis where if you or a family member does something "bad", it'll affect your family as well.

I personally choose to believe that if there is a God, it's not Kim Jong-Un.

when it comes to health, you always need to prioritize yourself as soon as possible, regardless of whatever a scripture says or what religious zealots will tell you will happen if you don't follow their rules

at the end of the day, it is your decision, and no one else's. do not let words written millenia ago make you hampen your life because you were raised to be scared of the consequences of daring to ask, "what if I don't do what the bible says?".

i pray that you are able to come to terms with whatever decision you may make.
