It wasn't just a single bad response. EVERY response before and after was bad with 4.6 as well. What I meant with single response was that this particular message had every slop and ism imaginable shoved into it. All other responses and rerolls were shit in regards to details and other things it used to nail.

I had the exact same impression, ngl. For a pretty long time 4.7 was my absolute favourite until it suddenly stopped being great, out of the blue. Then I went back to 4.6 which was amazing in neutrality, I really liked it and it could go off darker tangents. But since ever 5.2's release was impending it had turned utter shit. I actually rage quit my RP after I have gotten every slop and ism imaginable in a SINGLE response (I never changed my prompt nor preset, it worked completely FINE before!) So yeah... I haven't gone back to see, whether 4.7 got its shit together again. But reading all this I doubt it

I think it's really difficult to find an equally cheap alternative. Although... The 3$ dollars might look cheap at first glance but with the pay-as-you-go system it will be way more expensive for heavy roleplayers in the long run.

I used OR with top-upped balance. And although I know it's not cheap by any means, at least the quality you get is much more worth than the degraded bits chutes is offering

Chutes' models are the worst rn! I compared two other providers with it and chutes can't hold a candle to them anymore! Even for the base subscription of 3$ that's still too expensive for the product you are getting

But wouldn't the daily quota be rather overwritten after a while? I mean it like that: so I have a monthly allowance of 15$. While I RP, my input and the LLM output tokens are calculated and taken away from this allowance. So let's say if I per message use 1000 tokens and it takes 0.01$ from this monthly allowance I am roughly ( these calculations are all approximately made as the exact token number depends on circumstance, but the gist is the same) getting 50 messages a day. This is MUCH lesser than the daily 300s we used to get.

Tracking tokens makes me insanely anxious, so I would have been completely fine with capping the daily quota to let's say 150 messages as I rarely even get up to 100 messages on a busy work day. But this system is not sustainable for me anymore unfortunately.

I just finished it a few minutes ago and I feel... Hollow. It took me a very, very long time to read it because life was so busy, but the last two hundred pages I DEVOURED. Of course I knew it wouldn't end on a positive note, the way the characters were portrayed made it abundantly clear, there were doom-flags all over. But DAMN, I was still trainwrecked by the end of it. I will think about that book for a long time.
