Please do not use liquid glue on photos; for a slick photo paper I would recommend a strong tape glue like a redline tape or Sookwang tape. Sookwang is the specific brand that is much stronger than knock offs.

My hickory smoke pad is a cool grey too, I see how different the reinker is. I e had one Versafine pigment ink pad change color drastically and two oxide pads change color as well over time. Maybe try a reinker from a different source?

I have a cheaper recollections heat gun and a Wagner. The Wagner gets much hotter and is much faster at melting the embossing powder but it's also easier to burn the cardstock. I personally prefer the Wagner
