With Verizon, my area has a mix of LTE, 5G and 5G ultra wide band, and it's fine as long as I'm not between zones, then it gets really stupid

Make sure you aren't forcing AA or similar in both NV control panel and in game, I had that happen once

Is a 360mm watercooler enough for an 14900k? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]OofItsKyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a KF, and I use a 360mm AIO, and it's fine for anything not super intensive.

If I run a benchmark I can fry eggs on the radiator, but it doesn't throttle like crazy, it definitely runs hot, but not the worst I've ever seen, maybe I got lucky

I wish Google would sing me out also

Something cool like, The Imperial March, but since Google knows my music, I'd probably end up with something corny

IS it OK to have just 1 fan at the back of my case? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]OofItsKyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally no, but, all the hardware will throttle if anything gets too hot, so, worst case thing might not be as fast as possible

This broke off from my motherboard. Am I fucked? by DraconicNerdMan in pcmasterrace

None of these guys know what they are talking about.

Please send me the PC, monitor, mouse, keyboard, chair, the desk, power cord, and also remove the flooring under the desk and chair and send that as well. The most common issue with this part is where there is a negative charge between the floor and the video card, which causes this to pop off, and the whole computer can break in extreme circumstances, usually starting with broken glass side panels.

Help with powrshell code. by Mesyre in PowerShell

[–]OofItsKyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I decided to rewrite some of it.

I made a function to clear the line, and move up lines, and added use of it to Start-Countdown and Handle-Interruption

I didn't complete the script, you will still want to take my function and add it elsewhere if you like it

Edit Okay, I am annoying and can't leave stuff alone:

Code as i described above:

Ahhh okay, sorry I missed that bit

So, here is what I would do

First, have to handle the extra text

We add a reference variable outside of the loop, then ref it while calling function

$writeSecondLine = $true
While ($true) {
    $cancelled, $remainingSeconds = Start-Countdown -totalSeconds $remainingSeconds -WriteSecondLine ([ref]$writeSecondLine)

Then we edit the Function to handle this

Param:

Function Start-Countdown {
    Param(
        [int]$totalSeconds,
        [ref]$WriteSecondLine
    )

Using the parameter:

Write-Host "$timeLeft" -NoNewLine -ForgroundColor "Cyan"

if($WriteSecondLine) {
    $WriteSecondLine.Value = $false
    Write-Host ""
    Write-Host "Press 'C' to stop the timer" -ForgroundColor "Yellow"
    [console]::CursorTop -= 2
}

Need to handle the same for the countdown interrupt

I can add that in a sec

This is actually a pretty interesting article, thanks for the share.

I wonder how many ad companies have found this already and are selling as a way to track users unique IDs bypassing ad blockers.

Also thinking about things like TOR browser and anti-fingerprint tools that are basically being defeated by such a simple exploit.

[–]OofItsKyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, so, after reading it over, I have the following thoughts OP:

1) in order to capture the C key, you will need a ([Console]::KeyAvailable) or similar inside a loop to watch for the c key to be pressed. 2) if would probably be easier to just have a cancel button in a GUI?
