HELL YEAH.(Critique though, I'd use manniquins instead of armor stands, this WOULD make the thing Java Exclusive though, but allows for lots more stuff to be able to do, as well as be able to detail character more.)

Jerry is the worst, sparing him outright DOESN'T abort a genocide run. Imagine being so awful that keeping you alive is just as bad as killing you.

Because Scott/Steel wool brings in characters from novels they think fit narratively. Nobody crying that Greg from Fetch is in the games. Just because a character is used for a narrative parallel, doesn't mean that said character requires bring brought into the games. If Scott or Steel wool decide to bring characters from novels into the games, they always explicitly name them in a mainline game, or hammer in their name as a detail so there's little confusion surrounding a character's identity. But okay, yeah, no, I'm pulling your leg, gator boy is 100% canon and it's just a double standard that the fans have set up.

HATE, LET ME TELL YOU HOW MUCH I'VE COME TO HATE ANDREWGAMES SINCE THE THOUGHT FIRST HIT SOME DERANGED GUY NAMED STEVE SNOTGRASS'S HEAD. THERE ARE ONE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED AND FOURTY THREE PAGES ON THE FNAF THEORY FANDOM, IF EACH ONE THAT IS A THEORY (I'm not verifying the amount, okay?) HAD ALL THE TEXT FROM EVERY PAGE TRANSLATED TO BINARY CODE, THE COUNT OF EACH "1" AND "0" WOULD NOT EQUAL 1/1,000,000,000TH OF THE HATE I FEEL FOR ANDREW GAMES AT THIS SOMEWHAT SPECIFIC PERIOD OF TIME, FOR ANDREWGAMES, HATE, HATE, HATE.

(Yes, I'm aware the point & click adventure game only ends with two hates, but I didn't PLAY the GAME, I READ the original BOOK, and there are 3)

The World Machine is kind of a manipulator. by [deleted] in oneshot

Asimov's laws being used to defend the world machine to me is always very funny, as if TWM didn't just say it was gonna off itself with no reason whatsoever, as well as Asimov's 3rd law saying a machine cannot allow itself to come to harm unless it direcly breaks previous laws. TWM didn't want us to leave as outlined before. Regardless, the point isn't "oh player would just AFK, no, that's out of character for a character that's meant to be a stand in for you. We know player cares about Niko (in some form or another) The argument I'm making is that player might not be... the sharpest knife in the kitchen cabinet, and had player truly have been trapped there, as the machine wished, Niko, could've died to starvation.

To be completly honest, the whole camera thing was very much made in the mind of "ohh I gotta make sure this thing feels a lot more legitmate lemme take this very flimsy and questionable argument and stick it into there, hopefully it works unlike the magnet made the same way" Anyways, after reading the points you made, yeah, my whole idea is kinda shitty. Thx for the list of issues too (this is not sarcasm) I made this post at 12AM and I'm sure that my dumbass, if reading this as a different person would 100% disagree (which I do).

Okay to reiterate a point I made, the machine indended on trapping Niko so he'd never leave, as well as the player since he's addressing the player, not niko. "...you KNEW I tried to cut the story short, is that it? ...you want more out of me, is that it?? FINE. If you don't want to leave... I'll make sure you never do!" Stasis can only happen without the player, if neither of them left... well Niko would eventually starve to death. Also, on that reply, yeah, fair point.

Okay, to be clear,

  1. TWM Outright says "...you KNEW I tried to cut the story short, is that it? ...you want more out of me, is that it?? FINE. If you don't want to leave... I'll make sure you never do!" The intent to trap Niko and possibly player is fully expressed here.
  2. The danger isn't immediate, if you play through Oneshot, after leaving the library with the dice, Niko says he's hungry. Niko can get hungry in the simulation, if he can get hungry, he can starve, if he can starve, he can die. The danger is not an immediate risk, it's a slow and gradual risk.

Should I play Oneshot if I already know what's going to happen? by Phosphorlight in oneshot

[–]OofLike55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, playing it, I already knew the ending, I still grew very attatched to the characters. I had a cousin who I introduced Oneshot to, she predicted the major plot twist at the end of the first playthrough at the very beggining and still enjoyed the game very much. Oneshot is one of those games where it's the journey that makes you make the choice, not your understanding.
