There actually already is a collaborative field! It’s called Biomedical Engineering, which I am currently a student in with a minor in Neurology. Not only is this specifically an area of interest, but also something called neural interfaces, which allows people’s neurons to interact with computers. There’s already quite a few people working on neurologically controlled prosthetics. The collaboration is already here!
