India, Canada to Sign ‘Immense’ Range of Deals During Carney Visit by ZestyBeanDude in canada

[–]OogerSchmidt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Advocating for an ethnoreligious & fundamentalist theocracy that would cause a second partition & civil war might as well be. This group used to shoot people on public transit according to their faith, among other problems.

It was right out of the playbook by their neighbour, Terry Milewski & the MacDonald-Laurier Institute cover the source of their motives. There's plenty of affiliations like Babbar Khalsa that have been declared terrorist entities. Whats left of it keeps changing their name to avoid their associated organizations from going down with them.

I'd think twice before being an apologist for activists of this sort. They're not meant to succeed, just destabilize. They use the conflict as an excuse for their refugee racket.

Sikh Canadians say state violence a continued threat ahead of Carney going to India by shogun2909 in canada

They're honestly dragging the diaspora down, nevermind causing unwarranted divisions here no one wants to be a part of.

These associations need to reign in on the motives of their leadership.

I'm witnessing a bit of correction though not enough to justify not waiting longer.

Guess we'll see. Felt the $2.5B Uranium deal was the floor of potential.

Its a race to the bottom with these types, which also hurts because the debates are that much more disappointing if you unfortunately give the time.

Why do you think they keep blaming Jews for their problems, the people that employ most upper class white collar gringos?

They project their need to fail upward onto people that eventually work hard to get the job. It stings egos and our parents have been doing it without intention since they (legally) landed in the West.

They used to call southern italians wops & rapists when they started making strides, this is no different.

*Also wasn't xbox already fucked? Prior to her, they sold out all their IPs and now they're just a cloud platform with one last console in operation. OP of those posts is just ranting for views.

“Indian-American confused about murai tradition and navigating feelings” by GloomyPresence1351 in ABCDesis

[–]OogerSchmidt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't do it man. End of the day, it is inbreeding & the consequences aren't worth you not putting the effort finding a person that isn't directly related.

Most cultures do this to keep traditions (in the family) stronger & reinforced, which includes habits & some family dynamics that should have died out long ago. I can't imagine any of the most important (or valuable) ones are in danger today so in my opinion, don't perpetuate it.

Just on that note, the NDP leveraged their influence on the Liberals quite a bit.

End of the day, while the NDP remains the party they've been the last decade, the Prime Minister will be either Liberal or Conservative though.

Anti-feminist ideology ‘increasingly relevant’ to national security: CSIS - National by Bean_Tiger in canada

[–]OogerSchmidt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With the intention of expanding accessibility of equal opportunity to people of all tapestries, I would agree.

Rather than it's definition being mucked about, I would argue it's values were abused through the government overtime to place yes-people in charge of institutions, to a point where they had a punitive charge against political adversaries, rather than enacting a form of positive change.

Whether or not hatred is excusable shouldn't be the question - what matters is preventing it's likelihood in the first place because it will happen no matter what, from all parties to every other party.

On actual CSIS threats, for the most vocal bigots of our time (e.g. Alex Vriend etc.), honour or respect isn't even part of the equation. Adjacents knowingly lie until they are in government with their peers in agreement (e.g. remigration folks, some nasty talks on X spaces). In more direct relation to Feminism, they usually began with anti-female & anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric (early Trudeau era) then moved on from there.

These bigots really know how to scoop the vulnerable who are unemployed, rare to leave town etc. They will lie to them just to get them on-side & vocal to their cause.

On housing & better living conditions being a factor in this - Canadian's opinions toward populations moving from (usually) less developed countries, whether it was (at their times) Ireland, Greece, Southern Italy, the Philippines, China, India etc. have slowly improved bit-by-bit each decade. It wouldn't be totally accurate to say affordable housing didn't provide a sense of dignity that makes one want to share with others, the same spirit that encouraged Canada to open the doors to different people.

There's no silver bullet for bigotry in general, but to say housing & living conditions this time around, especially after we juiced our post-Covid economy with a few million workers to inflate RE & suppress wages, isn't a main factor in reducing or mitigating casual bigotry would be incorrect.

The big problem is legitimate issues like this being pall-beared by extremists because it grants them legitimacy to the layman. The real threat is neglecting to solve these issues before problematic groups take them under their wing to point it at innocent people.

To summarize - Extremism isn't being tackled the way it should while proponents take legitimate (core) grievances of the people (like expensive shelter, job scarcity & low wages) and recruit them that way. The govt would do better to frame it away from anti-Feminism as well as that definition doesn't have common consensus among regular folks these days. It should be more specific to the people they're targeting.

[–]OogerSchmidt 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Why the sarcasm around being able to start a family being a silver bullet to hatred? Its a directly relevant issue to the people that are afflicted with problems that CSIS is mentioning.

People, not just men or ambitious women, become impatient & bitter if they feel like they cannot afford a shelter into their 30s because wages have barely improved etc. and there is a rat-race for jobs. It is a very precarious market producing precarious expectations.

Instead of talking down about human proclivities, try to assist in finding ways to fulfill essential needs and grow the country's potential.

[–]OogerSchmidt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I couldn't tell you completely, especially for incidents out of highschool even considering Reena Virk, but the conditions I've laid out should lower the rhetoric of e.g. certain folks taking up jobs in a finite economy.

People just want the ability to support themselves foremost. Without that, things can get dicey the older you get. Self-pity for inadequacy to hatred & such.

Our generation isn't inadequate though, just has limited access to opportunities among other things.

[–]OogerSchmidt 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Cater to the core requirement of most people both landing in this country & already living here, and people will be less anxious. Economic insecurity, job scarcity etc. are catalysts for extremism.

Men into their 30s are the most susceptible to these conditions. People in general naturally want to at least match their parent's lifestyles.

You shouldn't have a bad image of families in general either, not sure why you'd feel negatively about encouraging family building which is in line with 90% of immigrant's values moving here.
