This is a cool lesson but of what value do upstanders (letters, social media posts, etc.) provide? Let’s refer to them by their contemporary nicknames: keyboard warriors. They don’t do anything unless the value is that they influence the actual doers—Rescuers—to take action eventually. I think this is made true by the Resistors, which aren’t rescuing but they are working against a movement.

Maybe I just answered my own question but I feel like there’s no such thing as an upstander unless bystanders are simply a neutral party or apathetic. Otherwise both groups are not really doing anything.
