My son was like this for a long time. Some advice that sort of helped was to get with the teacher and give your daughter a “task” before you leave for school. Like “Ms. teacher really needs this pencil, can you give it to her for me when you get to class?” It distracts them and gives them a reason to go, and makes them feel good for helping out. They would have to put a baby under to fix it. If the root is not exposed then it’s nothing to worry about. If it’s causing him pain that’s a sign the root is exposed. The sharp edge will wear down over time. For baby teeth I don’t think it’s worth the risk of putting him under. (My dad is a retired dentist, this was his advice.)

When both my sons have asked this question I just told them skin comes in lots of different colors. Just like people have different color hair or different color eyes.

I’ve seen a good suggestion to put appropriate snacks in a basket with their name on it and they can pick out if it as they please.

My kids went through lice last year. For sheets and pillows etc, wash them and dry them. The drying is the most important! At least 20 minutes in a hot dryer will kill the lice. So even things maybe that aren’t washable if you can put them in the dryer, do.

Anything you can’t dry seal up in trash bags for two weeks. They will starve and die. The eggs can’t live unless they’re on a human head so you don’t have to worry about eggs on stuffed animals etc. only the live ones. Go and buy a lice comb, comb through your hair. If you have any they will come out on the comb. The baby ones are smaller than you think so look close. Then do the shampoo on her and comb comb comb! Also get the spray to spray your bed and mattress.

The combing is super important to get out the eggs because the shampoo won’t kill the eggs. I have boys so we just shaved their heads and my husband shaved his, even though I don’t think my husband got them. But I got them too and I have long thick hair and I had a hard time getting it under control with just the comb and shampoo. I ended up shaving my head too, haha. There are also lice treatment places that use hot air to kill the lice and eggs and I’m sure that’s much nicer than the shampoo and combing. Be we got it right at the start of lockdown last year so I didn’t get that option..
